He can also play as a center forward, and could cover there if we bring in Bernard.

Bale seems to be playing on the right of a 433 in the pre-season games. I think we'll line up like my sig.

I'd imagine pre-season is more for experimentation though... Can't see Lennon being dropped to the bench, especially when we missed him so much when he was injured. It looks effective 4-3-3 tho. I reckon as a 4-4-2 Bale would play a roaming No.10 with Chadli/Lennon on the wings and the Brazilian due in the centre

Not sure where to put this...

Lloris
Walker - Caulker - Vertonghen - Rose
Sandro
Holtby - Sigurdsson
Lennon - Adebayor - Chadli
___________________________________
Townsend - ??????? - Bale
Dempsey
Paulinho - Dembele
Benny - Dawson - Kaboul - Naughton
Friedel
Reserves: Carroll, Defoe, Parker, Huddlestone, Livermore...
Basically, with another striker we have some serious competition for every place on the pitch. Barring maybe Chelsea and City, I can't name a team that can field two XI's that are this strong. Yes, we will sell 3 or 4 of these, but still we have a very talented squad which I'm sure AVB will use wisely next season. As I say, sign another striker and it's exciting times for us.

Great news. Let's hope it doesn't spell the end of our interest in Bernard though.

Man United says hi
I was going to make a comparison of our squads against the top 7 but most team are strong in either attack or defence in their second 11 and I didnt like United's second 11 tbh

I can still make it if you want

Hes a very good player IMO, not a world beater but would fit a 433 like a glove.

Hes not the quickest, but he has skill, strength and most importantly he scores goals. With Chadli and Paulinho we have added alot of goals to the midfield. Something we needed to do if we convert to one striker.

Chadli can also play both wings and central midfield, very happy for the price.

(Love how he sounds yorkshire too does our Chadleh)

I see Chadli being played on the left so AVB can keep Bale in the roaming central role or behind the striker. Either way tho it seems a good signing considering his versatility playing forward positions. And his goal scoring record is decent too.

WELCOME TO SPURS CHADLI!!!!

Right footed.

Do you guys think it's possible we won't play with a traditional #9 next year? If we go 4-3-3 maybe the three forwards interchange positions as the game evolves? We have the personnel for that type of system now with Bale/Chadli/Siggy/Dempsey/Adebayor/Townsend.

I'm pretty excited about Chadli. I don't see how you go wrong with a big, strong player who is good with the ball at his feet.

Was thinking this. It is possible.

This is probably the type of signing the Aston Villa, Evertons and Swanseas of the league would make with a chance that the player blow up during the season resulting in 20m sums being banded about. I'd be even more happy if we balanced the books and sold Dempsey, really don't need him now.

Do you even know who he is? If you think 20m signings are normal you arent paying enough attention. Most clubs in the world are struggling.

How much did Bale cost btw?

I genuinely think Lennon could be under threat now. Townsend offers more as Bale's backup cutting in from the right and I think we'll rotate Chadli and Sigurdsson on the left - both have the tools to cut inside from there and find a sneaky pass or shot.

Dempsey should certainly be out the door (not that I hate him like some on here do) and I think Lennon's gotta be feeling a little bit insecure.
