You need a bit of luck and we had it tonight; I think we deserve to be where we are in the league and this could be a massive three points come June. Turf Moor is always a place for turgid, boring football - take the points and on to th next one I say. The boys showed character today after the collapse against the spammers; I genuinely believe this year is going to end in something worth remembering for us.

How is it lucky if we have players in defensive positions who defend and prevent goals?

I’ve never understood this mindset. If a player is tasked to prevent a goal being scored and actually does that, how on Earth is that lucky? It’s by design surely?

There's a weird understanding of luck on here. When one of our rivals fights hard and scores a winner in injury time, many people on here call it jammy or lucky. It isn't at all, it's perseverence and fighting to the end paying off.

Don’t think it was luck. Was a tortuous grind that we finally got the better of.
I agree with that. The first line of the BBC match report is "Son Heung-min and Harry Kane linked up yet again for the only goal as Tottenham claimed a fortunate win away to Burnley." Was it fuck fortunate, the team worked its collective arse off for that and it was a superb goal.

Kane’s reaction at the final whistle, tells me a story. This was a big 3 points for many reasons. For the 6th game of the season his double fist clench fills me with a surge of adrenalin.
Buckle up peeps, it’s gonna be an intense ride!!

Agree, but the memory of him shaking his head in belief at the final whistle in the last home game will stay a while.

It would make sense if Burnley had been fashioning chances left right and centre while we'd looked utteryl toothless - but that's not how it was.

Also baffled by people saying this was an "awful game". I thought it was a tight, tense, struggle all game. Thought Burnley were terrific and thought we we very good in maintaining as much control as we could while never exposing ourselves to their strengths.

Football isn't just about free flowing mad scoring. It's about grinding out victories when you have too,.

There’s also a great deal of satisfaction in going up against a team renowned for grinding out results and outgrinding them.

I didn’t enjoy the game, but I enjoyed the resilience, if that makes sense?

Agreed. It wasn't pretty but I was never bored as every player on both teams was giving it absolutely everything. An uncomfortable, gritty but enthralling game.

I think that's the bit I don't get. People were posting they were "bored" - really? I was hooked the entire game. Thought both sides were a threat every time they broke shackles.

Not every game can or should end 3-3

That was tense but really happen we scrapped a 1-0, even than if we’d to keep them as shows we can keep clean sheets and win by 1-0 after the Newcastle and West Ham results might have played on our minds.

If we’d have conceded would have had massive impact on our mentality, we need to start keeping clean sheets and not giving away silly goals.
