Match: ___ Champions League - Round of 16

When: ____ Tuesday March 5th, 2019

Where: ___ Signal-Iduna Park, Dortmund

Kick Off: ____ 8pm

Team Form: _____ Borussia DLDWL ____ Spurs WWLLD ___ All Competitions

100% of teams to have won 3-0 at home in the first leg of a champions League knockout match have progressed to the next round ( 7 previous cases). If we go through, it would be our2nd appearance in the competition’s quarter-finals after 2010/11.

We have won our 3 previous encounters with Borussia Dormund (BD) in the CL, twice last season’s group stages (3-1 at Wembley, 2-1 at the Signal Iduna Park) and in this seasons round of 16 first leg (3-0 at Wembley)

BD conceded more goals in the 1st leg against us (3) than they did in the entire groups stages earlier this season (2). We secured our joint-biggest CL victory against BD, winning by a 3 goal margin for the 5th time in the competition.

BD have lost 10 of their last 13 CL knockout games (W3), after losing only one of their previous 14 (W9 D4). 11 of our 12 goals in the CL this season have come in the 2nd half (92%). We have scored in each of our last 17 CL games, our longest run in the competition. We have also only ever lost one game in the CL (out of 31 played) by more than two clear goals, against Real Madrid at Bernabeu in April 2011 (0-4).

BD’s attacking trio of Mario Gotze, Jadon Sancho and Christian Pulisic only had one shot combined in the first leg against us. Raphael Guerreiro has scored four of BD last 5 goals in the CL.

Son Heung-min has scored 9 goals in 11 games in all competitions against BD, more than he has against any other side in his senior club career.

Decided to post early so we can discus and take our collective minds off the last 3 drab performances by our beloved Spurs.

Cheers ..think we will probably lose narrowly and go through...I could also see us scoring which of course would kill the tie. The worry would be that they score early, and sadly we have form for that.
Dortmund aren't in great form either thought-provoking they lost to Augsburg on friday- so on balance I reckon we'll scrape through.

Im really nervous although theyre not on the best of runs themselves...

I think we will scrape through on an away goal... think we will concede early on unfortunately...

Slightly off topic but this game reminds me of ..

.
We went through with a late Hoddle long range shot, my favourite defeat of all time. I was at both ties.
I think we have stopped the rot with yesterdays draw.
.
Looking forward to Tuesday..

The longer it stays 0-0, the more desperate Dortmund will get.

I think we'll score, so they will need to score 5 to beat us.

Set up with a solid centre and with fight and energy on the flanks and force them central and never let them get their wide A3 players going.

Disrupt, disrupt, disrupt.

Never let them gain any rhythm whatsoever.

That's how we win.

Kane on the bench as fear-factor impact sub and let sonny run point and give the team that feel we had when we were winning games with just him up top before Kane came back.

They can only win this if we hand it to them via poor planning.

I'm really nervous about this game, we are complete shit at the moment i can't see us getting anywhere near their goal and with the one legged donkeys we've got in our defence along with the powder puff midfield we have to rely on I am convinced they are going to kill us, we're going out you mark my words.

Nah! Not really:)

I think it will be a tight match with the winner (on the night) just having a single goal advantage but that should be enough to put us through to the QFs.

To be completely honest its hard to have any confidence going into any game right now. We have not 'performed' well in most games this season and our midfield looks weak right now in terms of making things happen and ball possesion in a positive manner.
Perhaps just scrape through but i can see u conceding at least 2.
