we should ride a horse instead of driving because the horse have been effective for centuries and the car only came around the last century

Oh how I've missed Spurs Chat, and it's portal into another dimension.

The bloke's just trying too hard, because he wants to be a success. It's that simple. He's over-thinking and over-cooking everything. He just needs to relax and play his football.

Well, I fink hees too relaxed and dun't giv a shit

I'll just pre-empt that sort of response by dismissing it as rubbish. There we go. Sorted.

I think you are right that its his decision making which is letting him down at the moment. Although why he can't hit a decent set piece is somewhat more puzzling

The truth is the vast majority of spurs supporters who are judging bentley did not even see him perform 90 minutes in a blackburn shirt.

Be honest, what spurs fans had the time to sit and watch blackburn for a full 90 minutes?

What they infact saw was highlights of the englishman on Match Of The Day in which he scored a fantastic goal or two and assisted a goal every now and again - deriving from this he was fantastic under hughes but is utter shit since he came to spurs.

Truth is, if you watch most of our MOTD highlights, Bentley will come across as a good player, thats just how I think he is. Obviously he will have his better stand out games, but even when you think he is doing poo, he can still provide your best goalscoring oppurtunity or the only assist of the game.

He is worth persisting with, because once he finds his feet, people on here will not be able to stop boning him.

Why is everyone on Bentleys back.... It isnt his fault that our manager doesnt want to play him in his most natural position.

He is a far superior player to lennon on the right and the reason Bentley performed for hughes was because he showed faith in him week in week out and played him in his prefferred position on the right..

Madness that you all just chat crap about him

:bang::bang::bang::bang::bang:

Bentley's had quite a few games on the right and been utter shite. He should be dropped.

Whilst im not trying to defend bentleys performances in anyway shape or form, he was deprived of a full preseason due to the fact blackburn knew he was off and because he was injured too.
Now if we think back to last season lennon didnt have a preseason and was equally ineffective so i think he needs more time, but definitely needs to be dropped for the time-being.

There could definitely be something in that. Malbranque struggled when he first arrived, but once he had a proper preseason in him he was much better.

Bentley should still be dropped though. He's gash at the moment.

Try Bentley in the middle with Huddlestone and Jenas....it would be more positive than using Zokora there

i just think bentley should be dropped until he gets his head and his fitness right, jenas is back from a calf tear, neither does modric look fully fit as he seems to run out of steam in the 2nd half, hudds down, bales got hair and ear problems, zokos good at running around and chasing down his own miss-passes,bent doesnt look fit, pavs ill and campbell has been clearly told by ferguson to keep the ball and fall over when the goal is at his mercy.

This isnt about 1 player we have serious issues in the midfield as a whole, and the upfront areas are very weak as a result, pav and bent were finishing quite nicely a few months ago.

And lennon is finally showing that he will become the player we all expect so please no bad mouthing the little chap, we were only getting goals from his crossing and now noone seems to want to pass to him.

I've seen Bentley enough during the last 2-3 years and IMO he is a good player. He hasn't had a great season so far, but anyway has been much better than "utter shite" like someone here said. We shouldn't get rid off him because of he has had not so great 5 months in Spurs shirt. He is and he will be better!

I can't believe it's even crossed peoples' minds that Spurs would sell Bentley in January! First off, we'd never ever get back anywhere near what we paid for him and Levy just wouldn't stand for it. Secondly, he IS a good player. Or at least, when he's on form, it's pretty hard to rival his crossing and dead balls. Players at ALL clubs and of all quality go through bad patches.

Just need to get behind him and I'm sure he can be a big part of our season.

had th household spammer (my uncle) laughing in my face incredulously when we signed him for 15 mill. i ignored him thinking he was a good player. he's not. he is stewart downing except right footed. can,t beat a man, no pace, can't track back, famous for set pieces but can't get corners past the first man, famous for crossing but can never find a team mate in the box and is his own biggest admirer.

before you try saying that it's difficult crossing to a lone front man in the oppositions area. well beckham could cross it regularly onto owens nut for england but bentley can never get a cross to pav, bent, or woodgate? that's because beckham was a great crosser and dead ball taker whereas bentley is not.

thankfully we're buying downing for 15 mill in january so at least we'll have two wingers who are slow, can't beat a man cross, dribble or take set peices.

at least we will finally have that 'balance' we've been searching for for years.
