I did the predictor and had us 2 points behind Chelsea not including the game at Stamford bridge which would obviously make that a must win CL play off match like we saw at the Etihad in 2010

I think Arsenal will go on to cement a CL place from here

However all these predictors are a waste of time, football by its very nature is unpredictable

After we beat Arsenal and they'd been royally fucked at home to Bayern everyone was saying we were going to cruise to a top four finish, no one really saw us dropping 8 points in the next 4 games and no one expected Arsenal to suddenly regain their form and beat Swansea and WBA away

Just like now it looks like we can't win a game without Bale and people are expecting us to drop points and Arsenal to go on and win all their final games but for all we know Norwich and Everton will both take points off them and then Utd will f them

Predictor is total bollocks...how many of us would have had us losing at home to Fulham?...i would say its abit of fun, but looking at the fixtures and the way we are going to fuck it up is no fun.:mad:

Without doing the predictor, I predict/pray/hope we'll finish in the top four. We have to beat Wigan(a), Southampton(h), Stoke(a) and Sunderland(h). Two draws against Man City(h) and Chelsea(a) will give us 72 points which should be enough for 3rd/4th.

I predict we will need 4 points from the games against City and Chelsea

Also that we won't win all 4 of those games you say we have to

but with their goal difference compared to ours wouldn't that pretty much mean we couldn't catch them even if we won that game?

Unless we won by a rugby score, a lopsided rugby score at that

Top 3:

Ridiculously, I've finished with Arsenal, Chelsea and Us all finishing on 71 points. However, that is with both us and Chelsea still with a game to play - the game away at Stamford Bridge between us both. THAT IS THE DECIDER.

Result Outcomes:

Man City = Draw
Wigan = Win
Saints = Win
Stoke = Win
Sunderland = Win

I literally have no idea about the Chelsea game, it's not a ground we do very well at but it's definitely winnable! It's going to be so tight this year.

IMO we need Arsenal to drop points. Chelsea's fixture pile-up can also assist us.

In our favour, Ade regaining form could be the saviour for us this season. An on-form Ade adds so much to the side. Lennon/Bale back on the right (for Dempsey will also help immeasurably).

Southampton and Wigan will be tough games let alone the rest. It was ours to lose a few weeks ago and lady luck hasnt helped us either. Now its a game by game proposition. To tough to call IMO.

Top 4 is more important than the Europa league.
I would like Chelsea to beat city in FA CUp and also to get through to Europa League semis. Rafa will definitely rotate his squad.

I wouldn't be too upset we get get knocked out by Basle.

Reason why Arsenal are on a good run is because they have one game a week and players can rest and prepare for the next game.

We on the other hand are playing too many games and the players are not getting the rest that they need. This is causing our best players to pick up niggly injuries that is affecting our top 4 fight.

I might be one of the few but I want Basle to knock us out. Champions league is far more important and will bring in more revenue for next season and hopefully better players

I have us on 71 points with 37 games played and Goons on 71 with 38 games played i.e us finishing above them depends on us getting at least a point against Chelsea

Simple innit (y)

Having gone this far, I see it as a waste if we dont win Europa League. We'd get around 11m if we do and its a trophy. I don't want to only compete for the "top 4" trophy every year, I don't want to be Arsenal.

I have us on 71 points sitting in 5th position behind Chelsea who are also on 71 points with the Chelsea game still to play. Arsenal are in 3rd with 72 points...

Final Games;
City 3-1 Win (looks like big Younes will be back for this game and probably Bale, Lennon & Defoe)
Wigan 2-3 Win
Southampton 2-2 Draw
Stoke 1-2 Win
Sunderland 3-0 Win
Chelsea Can't call it!

It's going to be close ladies and gentlemen!

It sure will. Let's all jus try as best we can to enjoy it. It's gonna be an emotional mess but fuck it, this time 5 seasons ago we were over 30 points behind Arsenal & Chelsea. I'll take this.

I still see us finishing 3rd....BUT>

In my 'realistic worst case scenario (which see's us drawing to city, wigan and chelsea and winning against southampton and stoke)';

I have us on 69 arsenal on 70 chelsea on 68 with the final game to play... A game I expect us to win, and pray for Arsenal to draw or lose to Newcastle away to take 3rd...

I cannot see Chelsea getting a win against Fulham in their derby, and I think we can look to big Martin and Dimi to do us at least that favour, though I am not sure if they will help us much against Arsenal...

Equally I cannot see Arsenal beating a strong and hungary Everton side build exactly to exploit their weaknesses and I can see Fellani and Anichebi and Mirales getting a lot of joy against a physically weak defense with a slow left-back. Likewise I don't see Man U rolling over for them....that is a very drawish game. I am not holding my breath and predicting Norwich or QPR doing us a favour but at this time of the year either could pull something desperate out...

--------------------------
I did some research into what will be 'THE decisive game' against Chelsea and feel very positive about our chances:

If Chelsea beat City in the Fa cup on Sunday then they face playing- On Sunday the 5th of May in Manchester (against United) and then Tuesday the 7th at home to us and then Thursday the 9th at Aston Villa! They also will be trying to play technical football right at the tail-end of a 70 game season on increasingly heavy pitches with key players like Oscar and Hazard in their first season!

We will have come off of (what looks our easiest remaining fixture) at home to a safe Southampton side, and if we are out of Europe by this point we can expect an extra day of rest too.

Also almost all our players are now coming to the boil at just the right time, and have started to settled after grasping AVB's new tactics/formation:

Lloris is well adapted to EPL at this point and is not making the mistakes he did when trying to establish himself no1
Bae is gradually getting fitter and has more gears to go through after a 5 month break,
Walker is recovering from his mid season dip (having recieved a 2 week rest),
Kaboul should be raring to go 5 weeks from now having played well yesterday,
Jan has just won player of the month for his performances at CB

Dembelle has ridden out post injury dip and seems on an upswing
Parker who has played just half a season finally looks back to his best, which while short of Sandro's is still
an excellent energetic dmid to be our battery for the next 6 League games
Siggurdson has started to score regularly, and looks better every game
Ade likewise
Bale and Lennon have been performing at world class levels in the second half of the season and hopefully the anticipated two week rest/recuperation now will pace them to maintain this the end of the season

Aside from all the form/tiredness advantages that we will have; at full strength we are at least as strong as them IMO: Looking at our present player injury projections and form (I cannot help my naive optimism on this score), we could go into that game with our best 11 (except Parker for Sandro) and also have Defoe/Dempsey/Holtby to come on.

People are asuming that we will 'need a miracle to get a result at Chelsea' because they are so much better are underrating our side/squad IMO- If we made a joint 11 it would be mainly Spurs IMO:

GK/draw, depends on defensive system;
Cole (but presently injured) Jan, fully fit Kaboul/Luiz, Walker;
Dembelle, Ramires;
Hazard Bale Mata;
Ade

And if there was one manager in the world that you would want as yours in this game it is AVB who knows everything about their players, and will spend every minute analysing them to get personal revenge...never mind club revenge after they stole our Champions league place...

So in summation, our players will be more motivated for this than any other in their lives perhaps, so will our manager and fans....The team should be at it's peak of form and fitness, and the oposition as energy sapped as any team in Europe (with them having played a record number of games up to that point)... And as we will probably only need a draw we don't have to over commit- rather we can play our posesion+pressing football and let them chase using tiring legs.
