meh it happens - just gutted he was given the chance to do it
without reading 4 pages of this and only seeing the first few bitter posts, its disgusting to read.
Why are Spurs fans so bitter about ANYONE leaving? Bale is a WORLD CLASS player, he is never going to a World Cup, he wants and deserves to win the lot but he isn't realistically going to do that at Spurs.
maybe an FA Cup run or a League cup, maybe a Europa League, but a Champions League? not yet. not for a long while yet. we don't even quality for the cup let alone stand a chance of winning it.
we are not in the big boys league yet, we can't blame Bale for wanting to go. He needed to go to these lengths as Levy would never have sold otherwise.
as seen with Berba & Luka once they go on strike he sells. otherwise he stands firm and makes silly promises. (I'm in no way blaming Levy and applaud him and his attitude and this time he got it right...we replaced before selling)
We'd be closer to the big boys if we'd have a team with Berbatov, Modric and Bale in it.
The reason there is bitterness from fans, is that it seems to be the law of the jungle that we are expected to let our best player leave whenever a 'bigger' name comes in for them.
How are we ever going to get to the next level, when the teams already there can continually weaken us by cherry picking our best talent?
It's frustrating because we are patient and develop the talent, only for a Madrid, or United to come in and reap the rewards of our work. I know it works the same way with Spurs and clubs below us, and that is equally wrong. Unfortunately, the more money you have the more successful you are, and the big teams haven't really changed since the inception of the Premier League. Everything is set up to maintain the status quo. Unless you get bought by an Arab billionaire and attain success not by merit, but on credit. It's not sporting, and it's not fair.
If I was earning as much as Bale is getting from Madrid I would kiss whoever's badge it was too.
Spurs legend
VDV kissed ours, I remember it well because it made me feel all warm and fuzzy
Sandro stopped following him on Twitter yet GB is still following him haha, Sandro is ruthless.
Am slightly annoyed at this.
Spends 6 years at us- never kisses badge once
Spends 3 hours at RM- kisses the badge about 10 times.
Disrespectful and it pisses me off- before the move I was happy for Bale and wrote a really long post about by annoyance at haters but I must admit he has lost some respect from be for this...
Why do you find it disrespectful?
Because without us, he would be a bog-standard LB and would not be the player he is now- one of the best in the world- kissing the badge is a sign of loving the club and its fans- he never did it- lack of respect considering he did it with the rm badge after 2 seconds
