Two weeks, two right backs for the oppo sent off. Not to mention terrorising every other player in his sights.

There hasn't been this big a threat to the right wing since The Nuremburg Trials.

Great to see the lad back on form and in the goals. Hopefully silence a few of the doubters/neutral fans who couldn't understand why he won PotS last year.

Im just hoping he doesn't pick up too many kicks!

Very very true - today it seemed to have little to no impact. The Bale kick and run is a yellow machine for fullbacks with no pace though..think we'll see a fair few more of those!

When I saw the goalscorers I was absolutely delighted. Both Bale and VDV needed a goal, especially Bale. Wasn't this his first goal since new years day, and I don't think he's got any assists this year either?

I think we would have done better if Lennon was available and we could have changed the shape and stretched them from both wings. Also Ade btaking a knock and Defoe not playing meant we couldnt pin them back. With the pace and width of Bale and Lennon and the pace of Ade & Defoe they would not have been able to commit so many forward.

All hail Harry for our 3 league wins in a row, but sometimes you get the feeling he does it without tactics, or he's so good we cant read his tactics.

Just a thought though, I would still be interested to see this midfield at some point:

Lennon
Sandro
Parker
Modric

The thing with Bale is that even when he is having an offish day, he scares defenders and affects the oppositions game plan. There is always a scrambled defence when he gets the ball with them double teaming and over commiting to cover the spare space.

If he can stay fit and continue his general contribution (like yesterday) he will have another blinding season.

Yup, any Premier League manager watching the last two games basically realises that he HAS to play a more defensive right midfielder (categorically not a winger) against us. Kicking Bale works to an extent but refs will book you now, so it takes two and therefore, your right back needs support from the right-sided centre-back and the right midfielder. And even the central midfielders have to be aware of where the ball is going so they can cover these two as they go to help out the RB. This has a massive impact on the oppo's ability to take the game to us and limits their tactics enormously.

Further, because Bale is just as likely to beat the man and hit a cross to the near post, send over a cross from deep to the penalty spot, cut it back to the edge of the box, or run inside himself at the goal, you have to try to counter all those options. And that's not easy.

The alternative is stopping Bale getting the ball, which is evidently the best plan. But with passers like Sandro, Modric, and even our defenders who can all use the ball quickly and accurately, they don't stand much chance.

He's incredible!

Even getting the Ronaldo heading ability too now would love to see him behind ade or up toP on his own

I was thinking when it looked like Adebayor would have to be subbed then Bale might've been worth a shot as our striker for the final 30 minutes. Not because I've ever seen him play there, more just because he seems to have all the right attributes to play there.
