I am really finding it hard to excuses to keep faith with AVB to be honest, we really look a very poor side! And the worst thing is we have a very talented squad indeed! We have the players who can do the job but if seems they are being told a certain way to play and that way just isn't working, this in turn is killing confidence and believe.

But that suggests that he gave AVB free rein on signings. We know that's not the case...there's the shadowy 'committee'.
Ahh indeed the "committee" which is also a problem in being that any manager cannot have who he wants unless 2-3 others are all fine with it or they dont demand another player to come in....we need to run the club differently thats for sure. All these sub departments who have power within the club seem to have us unsettled from the get go.

That analogy doesn't work when the person you are reffering to has gotten our highest points total in the EPL, has the highest win % and is doing better points wise so far this season than this time last season.

If Portsmouth hire me as their new manager and give me 250000000$ to spend on players there's a good chance I will have a great record with them. Doesn't mean I am better manager than everyone else.

No, it just means Portsmouth are truly fucked again

I think Levy will have a bit of explaining to do to Lewis if he sacks AVB. To invest £100m ( all be it ) from Bales sale its still £100m spent....Business is Business and Lewis will not be happy.

Levy is Lewis puppet, Levy cant sack AVB without Lewis say so

That Hirst guy said he's still our manager and the sacking rumors are false. This has probably been posted already but this thread is moving faster than I can keep up.
No one knows what is going on

It feels a bit like the Summer 2012 Deadline Day

Fuck that day.

look, the reason why we were beaten so easiky today was down to one thing - work rate off the ball. liverpool pressed us like a bunch of animals on steriods, we sat off them and didnt apply anywhere near the same level of pressure in terms of closing them down. that stops with the manager im afraid. only holtby looked hungry.
Woah!

Since when did you turn into Blake Griffin...

Whatever happens the players have let Andre down on more than one occasion this season.
Maybe because the players do not believe in AVB's system. Personally it's bad enough Dawson plays, but to play him in a defensive high line is suicidal! 2 holding mids? Soldado no service? Slow passing? Poor movement off the ball? It all boils down to the managers tactics.

Not just one thing, mate. A number of crap things; like a left back who really should've been left back at home clutching a Liverpool shirt in his bedroom closet as that's all he was doing today on the pitch! Work rate doesn't even begin...

True but losing 5-0 at home to anyone without a single shot on target or 3-0 to West Ham isn't really acceptable.
Sport is a result business, not just football. Most sports are the same, cant see Andy Flower being around much longer after we inevitably get stuffed 5-0, and that's after back to back ashes victories. Heads have to roll, and unfortunately for AVB he is first in line.
Look I agree they are completely below par performances but take today for instance, we were instantly on the back foot by having so many injuries at the back and little room to manoeuvre for Andre.

The high line was a complete unmitigated disaster - is that Andre's stubbornness or the players not adapting, we'll never know but it played right into Roger's hands and the guile and pace Liverpool possessed.

I just think its far too easy to blame the manager for defeats and not enough credit for win's - the players were absolutely turgid out there in every facet of their play and if they don't carry out the manager's orders then how do you legislate for that?

Ah great. The 'best points tally ever' argument again. Never mind that it only just beat Harry's total despite him switching off for a third of the season, or the squad of players he inherited, or Bale becoming a 'worldie', or the fact that four teams were able to pick up more points than us compared to only three in the previous season.

Things aren't going to get better under AVB. In fact they're clearly getting worse.

Or that only 5 other teams have a worse goal difference in the PL than us?

I feel like I just watched the Stoke game with Ramos. Its not that we lost, its how we lost. We looked miles from being a competent team.
