Thank god for that.

Brilliant signing him and pienar would upgrade our squad one thing people have to remember football is not just about attack its about defence as well and they would be an upgrade on kranky bentley and dos santos in this department young and pienar like lennon and bale are very good defensively also they are adaptable kranky bentley and dos santos are limited in positions they can play if lennon or bale were injured or suspended i would be happy to have them as an option plus pienar can cover center mid for me this is a no brainer.
Young would be a great signing
He's young, English, quick, skillful, has vision and takes a mean set-piece. PLUS, he can play on the left, right or centre, in midfield or up front.
The midfield options of Bale, Lennon, Young, Modric, Jenas, Hudd, Wilson is quite frankly fantastic.
Why on earth wouldn't we want him?
Marin would cost more than Young, his stock is very high while Young is running his contract down. Plus Marin would still be sub behind VDV and Bale as I dont think he'd play on the right. So if we're going to sign someone on the wing then it'll be a backup player. Pienaar would come cheapest with only 6 mths on his contract, but Young could also go at a good price with 18mths on his contract. I'd get Pienaar and Becks in this window then look at Young in the summer.
Anyone who saw the Chelsea v Villa game today will have seen what Ashley Young can bring to a team. He played a free role in midfield supporting Heskey and was all over the pitch. He can play right accross midfield and as a suppoort striker and is not only a constant threat but puts in a shift as well.
I'm all for Pinaer and Becks on loan, but I'd take Ashley Young over either.
Getting Young to come here is a little more difficult than getting either Pienaar or Beckham, as Villa don't want to or need to sell him. If he did become available then you will be getting no change from £20m, which is a lot for a good, but not world class palyer.
I see being English as a huge disadvantage for spurs. That means, overpriced, overated, big ego. Daws and Defoe have not improved one iota on the back of playing with England - only got injured...
There's no advantage to being English in terms of the squad rules. All that matters is where the player played before the age of 21 and for how long.
For example, if QPR get promoted, they can count Adel Taarabt as "home grown".
