Are we having our bad spell or are we running out of steam?

I don't think we are running out of steam or having a bad spell (in spurs terms) surely the results we've have we're expected to a certain degree

Everyone needs to bear in mind what a tough run of fixtures we have had.

Man city away - 100% home record, we weren't expected to win this game.
Liverpool away - yes we played poorly but got a point at anfield
Newcastle - smashed them 5-1
Stevenage away - match played out as expected, could have been a banana skin but got a home reply.
Arsenal away - form goes out the window for this. Wrong tactics IMO

You forgot the cracker at Watford

Easily forgotten:)

But again, it's not an easy game away from home in the cup. Local derby, pitch isn't as good, their players will play it like a cup final, and our players are naturally complacent ( which we were). Yet we still came away with a win.

Did you know that over the last 10 games we have gained an extra point over the scum. So were in a better position then when we both played 16 games

after the city game(at home) i think i'd've taken us being 7 points off 4th at this stage of the season, so to be 7 points ahead of 4th is way beyond my expectations. hopefully the players don't feel this way though and instead push on again like the last time we conceded 5.

This can't be right? I'm not Mr Stats but I could swear we have lost 3 in the last 15 (Stoke, Man City, Arsenal)

More importantly in our last 6 games we have dropped 10 points. Admittedly its a tough run, but I think key points dropped were 2 vs Wolves at home and 2 away at Swansea (v tough game, take a draw most days but 1-0 up with 5 mins to go...points dropped)

Unfortunately the fixtures don't get easier, Man U (H), Everton (A), Stoke (H), Chelsea (A) is a really tough run and you can easily end up with just 3 points to show from a possibly 12. April is not much kinder, 3 away games.

It's a tough run in, the team is good enough its about fitness and mental strength.

It really isn't that tough compared to our rivals

The performance, against Scum, was 'unusual, but, sadly rests at Harry's door. He did not lead from the front, as is where he normally can be seen. He underestimated a woefully 'average' Scum outfit and we paid the price (even though the Ref lost us the game by failing to dismiss one of the home side, after the penalty. EPL Refs are the poorest, by a long wad. The joke of world football.....awww well....Manure await.....COYS!

We never beat Man U and I don't expect that to change after all they have a lot riding on this game and are stronger mentally. i think we will be under even greater pressure afterward's with Chelsea closing the gap further.

I think its not widely accepted here how brilliantly Arse played . Our players were simply shattered by the pace and skill .

Old footie cliche of absence makes the heart grow fonder in full flow re Lennon .I'm looking forward to his return , but how long will it be before he is
fully fit ?

And hadn't we come to the conclusion that Lennon and Bale staying out wide leaves us shorthanded in midfield

I think 4-5-1 will suit us best when both Bale and Lennon are playing. They will stretch opposition midfields and draw out their central players, hopefully leaving room for VdV dropping deep and Modric in the centre.

I really hope Lennon is back for the United game. I have a feeling him and Bale could really do some damage to their rather iffy defence, Lennon normally does pretty well against Evra.

Eek

We just imploded defensively and predictably conceded way too much possession which was the major talking point before the game.

Lets have it right, we made Arsenal look like a very good side on Sunday, we were shit from a collective point of view - in nearly every respect.

I hope that after Man U beat us on Sunday that + the Arsenal result will have the same effect as the Man U + Man City results did at the start of the season.

Newcastle aside, we've been looking really lacklustre for a fair few games and anyone who thinks 4th is a forgone conclusion is counting their unhatched chickens.

I hope that after we beat Man Utd on Sunday we go on a similar run to the one we had after the last time we conceded five goals.
