Thanks Chelsea for really trying to make an occassion of it .

You took the lead and gave your fans everything they deserved and more but their applause lasted about as long as the restart .

Drog was and I do mean this sincerely an entertainer , it's a pity your players didn't get it .

I wish you luck in the league but you've got an inbalance of stars and players .

Blue is the colour ! Losing is the game and your getting very good at it .

Were there actually any Chelsea fans at the ground? I saw a few unpleasant looking chaps wearing blue (and some absolute munters wearing that shite neon yellow horror show), but didn't hear them at all once the game started.

The bizarre thing was there was considerably more Chelsea fans in the ground than Spurs. You wouldn't have known it though

This pretty much sums those gypos up!

Avram:

Avram Grant believes Chelsea were the better side in their Carling Cup final defeat to Tottenham.

The Blues boss saw his side take the lead at Wembley through a first-half Didier Drogba free-kick.

However, Tottenham equalised through a controversial 70th minute Dimitar Berbatov penalty after Wayne Bridge was adjudged to have handled in the 18-yard area.

Tottenham centre-back Jonathan Woodgate then headed an extra-time winner, but Grant insists his side did not deserve to lose.

Better side

"I think even in the second half Tottenham were not in the game and that we were the better side," Grant told Sky Sports 1.

"The penalty put them back in the game and that turned the match. The second goal was from a set piece so we are disappointed.

"I did not think it was a penalty. Wayne Bridge could not keep his hand behind his back when he was challenging for the ball and you saw it was not the referee who gave it but the linesman.

"It was always going to be close because cup finals are like this and it was not a great performance from both teams. We tried to score a goal and keep it tight but we lost.''

Baffled

Grant also admitted he was baffled by referee Mark Halsey's decision to blow the final whistle as Chelsea striker Salomon Kalou broke clear of the Spurs defence in the dying seconds.

"I have never seen such a thing in my life and I have never before seen the referee finish a match when this situation is happening,'' Grant added.

"Also in extra time it was not a proper football match with all the stoppages.

"The players are disappointed because we have come a long way to get to the final and we are proud to get here.

"But we still have the Premier League, Champions League and FA Cup so we must now focus on them."

interesting stuff from avram there, all the chelsea fans who i spoke to said they thought we outplayed them , tried harder and was a lot more attacking. I agree of course :)

Interesting avram never said about drogba being a diving cheat though.

Surely he can't be complaining about the ref blowing the whistle after playing two and a half minutes of injury time in the first half of extra time then nearly four in the second half? joker
He's lucky i don't Zokora him to his face.

BBC:

"Such is the apparent lack of affection for Chelsea these days that someone in the bowels of the stadium was moved to describe it as a victory for good against evil."

I just loved the way Terry practically snatched his loser's medal—and did anyone else notice it was Terry giving the extra-time pep talk, with Grant hovering in the background? The egos have taken over there, no mistake.

That shot of Terry and Lampard trudging up the stairs shaking their heads was the icing on my celebratory cake.

Grant picked players on reputation. I was surprised to see JCole and Ballack starting on the bench. Lamps didn't have a great game.

JJ, zoko and the Hudd when he came on nullified (there's a word for Stoof) Chelsea's midfield

In fact, it would be interesting to know who actually does pick the Chelsea team these days.

Well, I was in Club Wembley and it really wasn't.

Oh well who cares, Not sure if you all got the email from Chel*ea saying that they are not meant to lose they are meant to win, thought Grant had a little more about him then Jose, but in the end he just looked like a very sorry little toad COYS:rofl::rofl:
