Well it seems Fabrizio has just made ruins of earlier reports/ITK that we were remotely close to Fati, saying contact was merely made between clubs.

People need to perhaps consider fellow supporters' mental health when posting. I'm actually being serious. Some people's whole life/mood depends on Spurs.

I had a friend years ago who would see media reports and guess on Twitter as "ITK". He got lucky once and ended up with about 10k followers! Long story short, people would hang on his every word and whilst fun at start, he realised the damage he was doing to fellow Spurs fans and packed it in.

Not saying that's what I think some people do here, but food for thought.

Well Brighton have seemingly done a deal in the space of a few hours. So nothing stopping us.

Two days to go folks - we were told it was going to be crazy.
Please we’re pulling all the strings in heaven!

We replaced Kane with Richarlison and Maddison. Not sure how people don't get that.
Because we signed Richy a year ago and he’s been shit. We then signed Maddison. Weeks and weeks later it was touch and go whether we’d sell Kane. If we hadn’t, that money would have come from somewhere. It’s not about replacing Kane, it’s about using the funds from the sale of our best ever striker to improve the team in whatever way that means. Not just line Levy’s pocket.

This is the point I've been trying to make in other threads.

I do not like Daniel Levy. I do not like ENIC. I want them both to fuck off.

However, so many people on this site apply no logic to criticisms of Levy and constantly rewrite history, which make said criticisms seem nonsensical and undermines the whole ENIC Out stuff.

We know Fati isn't Ange's first choice. Very few people on here actually wanted him. Even fewer on a straight loan.

Yet look at the number of people shaking their fists at Levy? It literally makes no sense?

100% agree that we should be doing better this window to replace Kane, as I've said a number of times. Also baffled at the lack of a 2nd CB signing.

But if people put in loads of work into this transfer and Levy said no at the end because there was no buy option, then good. One of his better transfer decisions.
This is one of the best takes I've read in my 10+ years on this forum. The unfounded criticism of Levy in every aspect undermines the real problems with Levy and as such neither gets taken seriously. If you post 30 times a day slagging off Levy and five of those are justified reasons, no ones gonna take it seriously, as they've already read 25 posts of you unfairly blaming Levy for everything.

I've noticed the ones most in uproar about this deal collapsing, are the ones that were in uproar about there being no option on the deal. So the narrative changed from "I can't believe Levy's gonna train and develop a Barca player with no option, so much for the four year plan and supporting Ange, this is just another opportunistic club signing". To, "I can't believe Levy's been beaten to a deal by Brighton, we've fallen so far that we're below Brighton in the pecking order, he would've improved our team, even for just a year".

As much as I want Levy and ENIC out of the club, this sort of reaction to any bad news is not helpful. This will no doubt get neg repped by the usual suspects, but rather than bashing away on their keyboards and slowly eroding away their L-E-V and Y keys, they should listen to the people who are actively trying to effect change at the club.

Surely anybody at the club working on the deal would know that Levy would never sign off on any deal that didn't include an option to buy. Unless I'm picking it up wrong but that seems to be what the ITK suggests happened.
But he literally did that last year with the same club when we signed lenglet. There is no logic to this clubs madness.

Well we wanted a try before you buy. We got it. Just that the try is at a different PL club. At least we'll know if he's worth buying outright in a year.

Some of you guys are absolutely fucking mental.
This thread has had post after post of people complaining that we should consider a loan with no option, or that were even going for the permacrock anyway.
Now that it appears he is instead going to Brighton the thread is now up on arms and ready to burn Levy to the ground.
Honestly, this place is bi polar
its more to do with us selling our (possibly) best ever player and since then signed no one. Its a bit shonky

So a couple of the itk’s are blaming Levy but the problem is they aren’t explaining why it’s Levy’s fault, so everyone on here is blaming him too without knowing why.

Did he deny a dry loan for obvious reasons? Was there an option in place and he just changed terms of the deal last minute? Did he offer less money to Fati last minute?

Personally, I wouldn’t have even minded a dry loan if it helped our season, but I understand why some people are against it. But with respect to the itk’s, who have been great in general, it’s hard to understand that they can say fuck levy etc with such vengeance without saying what he actually did.

Same thing every year mate.

Rile everyone up, then make Levy the enemy.

I couldn't agree more. I have plenty of thoughts on the matter.

Yeah, can't believe Levy had literally everyone in the club stop all their other work, and had EVERY. SINGLE. EMPLOYEE. working on this transfer.

NOT ONLY THAT.

He got everyone to delete all correspondence/files/contacts/etc. for all the other transfers we were working on, both in and out.
Can’t tell at this point in the day if you are being sarcastic, honest, or insane here. 😆

Valid point! What if Fati's goals and assists pushed us up the league? We're looking at both short-term (next 36 games) and 2-3 years ahead.

Levy's caution resembles an insurance broker's risk approach. Fati on loan makes sense as a low-risk option.

Relying on Johnson is a gamble, given his unproven track record. Two players might have eased the risk of losing Kane.

What makes me more angry is his arrogance to fuck with transfers
I know that the knives are out, but in the cold light of day Johnson is a more proven option even in the PL than an Ansu Fati that Barca want rid of for a year, isn't he? He's just not called Ansu Fati and he's not from Barcelona.
