Surely we can do better than this bloke? He's perma-crocked and likely on some dumb as fuck wage.
He played over 50 games last season. If that's him being "perma-crocked" I'd love to know what he's like when he's actually fit.

I think the bigger issue might be that he's a little bit shit.

Worth a punt at this point. We need a bit of x-factor in attack.

Even if he reaches 80% of his original potential he'd be a top player.

When in La Masia he played all across the front three including CF but LW was originally his best position when coming into the senior squad. Post injury tho I think he will eventually be used as more of a SS playing off a CF rather then out wide. At 20 he shouldn’t be written off at all but I’m not sure how he’d fit in our current system. Obv he’d play wide but not sure that is his best position going forward.

I haven't seen as much of him post injury but do you think there's a chance he could play the withdrawn/false 9 role in our front 3?

He has a great amount of composure I wonder if with his injury health a shift more centrally might be the direction his career goes.

He isn’t even a winger, he’s an inside forward. He drifts in to central areas constantly, he always dribbles inside, he doesn’t go outside to cutback etc.

He does nearly all of his good work in central areas with combos imo. Playing wide in our system wouldn’t get him playing well at all.

So even aside from the fact he’s lost his explosiveness and his knee is naffed, he isn’t actually the type of player we need imo. He’d make more sense as a striker for us than a wide player and he isn’t even a striker haha.

I’d be worried by his lack of presence. I think he works best when drifting close to a CF so defenders leave him unmarked. I think he’d get eaten up being a CF in the PL.

Maybe like @Ghost Hardware suggests he plays more inside forward much like Alvarez is being deployed at City but I’m dubious over whether physically he can cope in this league and the demands put on his body.

Bringing both Fati and Johnson though is definitely shining a light on Son and Deki’s roles and their starting berths.

Club see fati in a similar role to rashford more of an inside forward and potential long term successor to son if all goes well . It will be a loan with option or obligation as stated.

Surely if we get both then Perisic must be off?

Otherwise we’d have:

Fati/Solomon/Perisic
Son/Richarlison/Scarlett
Kulusevski/Johnson

Plus Gil is still here! We’re only in 2 competitions now and 1 of them doesn’t start until January!

Could see that coming back. Xavi is apparently very keen on him.

Guess it could work if Ange thought he could convert Deki into a #10 if Maddison was out.
I genuinely think this could be the play here. Coach and convert Deki into someone who can rotate with Maddison at the #10 position.

Sell Lo celso and bring Fati on a loan. We would then have Johnson for the right with Solomon. Richi and Fati as CF, Perisic and Son on the left.

Regardless of what people think of Gio that would be an unbalanced swap. Wed need to go into the market for another AM if we sell Gio

Unless Gil could play there?

Ugh really don't know how I feel about Fati. My head says he's good enough to make an impact even without blistering pace and is young enough to "relearn" how to affect matches.

But also I see on here links to Edwards and my heart says go for someone like him if w want two WF?

I was thinking the same thing.

I assumed we were hoping Solomon would be the new Son. I just hope it’s an option if it happens. Regardless of his raw talent it would be a big gamble
