Political correctness gone mad, at my workplace if we were sacked for a bit of banter there would never be anyone left in the office and I work for a firm that employs 400

If it was anyone else, then i'd probably agree with you, but as it's Andy Gray then.....

Classic this season was when Yakubu dived against us to get a freekick and he called it great forward play. No its cheating!

Gray was a biased **** but sacking him for this is ridiculous, it was just a bit of harmless banter between guys, at our workplace we are forever "rating" the women in the workforce and commenting to each other about their boobs and they no doubt they talk about the guys, that's all Gray was doing till some bra burning feminists grassed him up.

It is true though what he said, football is a man's game it is kind of creepy almost having a woman out there on the field, no problem with them working in club offices or PR departments or behind the club bar but women have no place on the football frontline

Whilst it might be "harmless banter", when you're on the telly you must set an example at all times and sexism and racism have no place.

If it had been brushed under the carpet we would be sending a message to all the kids out there that it's ok to say these things.

Now I personally think a serious telling off (i.e. official written warning) and then in a few weeks being made to do an on air apology might have sufficed, but as it's Andy Gray I couldn't really care.

If a woman can do the same job, I see no issue with them being involved in any position (let's remember she got the decision right after all!!). Female commentary is a bit odd though, I must admit...

He's a right dick, but it's quite obvious that Murdoch and his cronies have stitched him up for having the temerity to sue the News of the Screws for hacking his phone.

Still, you work for the devil, don't be surprised when he shafts you up the bum hole.

Wouldn't be so bad if there was even a hint of irony in their tone, but they clearly weren't just having a laugh and a joke.

I'm delighted... absolute tool. The only reason he was on sky sports was that at the beginning they spent all their budget getting the premiership rights and couldn't afford to get a decent pundit. So they shopped the bargain basement. Its been horrible watching him evolve into the "authority" he became...

As far as the incident... its clear that he mustn't have been liked. No-one should get sacked for that.. a warning at best and an on air apology would have sufficed but they chose to get rid of him. Its like rodney marsh a few years ago... when he made the tsunami joke...

All i can say is take a bow son!!

He's a dinosaur...so is Keys...so are many other pundits. The overgrown genital hair that is football punditry needs a damn good prune.

Keep Kammy...he's not the best but good for a laugh. Same applies to Pleat.

If the bird in question, Charlotte whatever her name is, made a complaint then he deserved to be sacked.

If she didn't, and I suspect she can't have done if it happened in December and due to the timing, then to get sacked for that is ridiculous.

What?

Are you saying offensive jokes and sexism are ok if someone doesn't complain?

Richard Keys reminds me of Gareth from The Office, with David Brent being brilliantly played by Andy Gray

I'm saying that Gray put himself in a position to be sacked by making those comments and therefore he can have no real complaints.

However, in most companies unless a complaint was actually made on the strength of those comments, a warning would be the most likely course of action.

Is it right that such comments are made? Probably not. Does something like that happen in every workplace up and down the country regularly, without people being sacked instantly, I dare say yes.
