Seems a very Moneyball-ish type of transfer, Plea does seem to be involved in a fair amount of goals in the teams he plays for. He has came out and already said he wants to leave Nice this summer (Dortmund amongst others linked)...if his injuries are behind him, this would make sense as a more established back up striker/wide player tbh. Seems more a squad player than anything else though.

So we’ve gone from Martial’s plan b is Pulisic to his plan b is an injury prone Plea? Spursy

Rather go for Julian Brandt, he was excellent during his 3 cameo appearances. More than just a winger, the kid has a hell of shot on him.

Im more commenting on the quality of a plan b. Not the player. But FWIW, I agree with you. I'm a big fan of Brandt. Every time I see him, he looks quality. I love Pulisic but I dont know if he is ready for the Prem just yet. Rather he went to Italy or Spain tbh. Or stay in Germany

I know, just annoying that our plan b’s in the past have been on the N’ level whereas now they’re of a higher calibre but they’re either mental (Aurier) or have knees made of dust (Plea).

He’s going Bayern as soon as his release clause activates, apparently.

Bayern are an awesome club... great model. Pick up quality players for peanuts in the current market. If Brandt is a no go, they’ve also got Gnabry (fantastic couple of seasons on loan) and Coman (another with huge potential).

That and they have such a control on the Bundesliga that they systematically buy the opposition to keep them weak.

Why deflect the thread to naming other fucking players yet again? Plea is available and wants to leave, I believe there is value in the transfer.

There are enough players who have flourished after leaving French football, often at not the biggest clubs. I think Plea could be such a player, only sticking point for me is the injury record, which I daresay the medical team will have a particularly thorough look at if it gets that far.

My concern with this transfer is whether or not as a back up striker, he will get enough minutes to be a success.
N'J ie, N'Koudo, Jansen and Llorente haven't really been given much chance to succeed at Spurs.
So if Plea is going to be bought with the intention of being the guy that comes on in the 85th minute or who starts in a 3rd round FA cup tie away to Stevenage in a team of misfits... What's the point.

Surely it makes sense to pick a player who is flourishing in their league over some one who is not!

How exactly is Plea not flourishing? The point is that these threads are here to discuss actual linked players, not to discuss who everyone would like at Spurs in an ideal world...which happens to usually be one of the youngest, hyped-up players in a foreign league.
