We need to do both though. I would love us to sign lots more of these young talents as most won't work out but you will get a diamond here or there.
We do have players that will need replacing over the next 5 years (Hugo, Kane, Son, Moura, etc) and these young signings might save us a fortune by then.
I do agree we need another couple of 'now' players too.
I don't know anything about this player but I look forward to finding out more about him if we sign him

that would be 80m+ each. unless we have a takeover by a sugar daddy who can pour infinite money to the club otherwise won't happen ever

Should be a budget specifically allocated to bolstering the academy. This is likely why we have revamped our scouting department, and it should have absolutely zero impact on first-team signings. It’s what big clubs do.
Suspect we might now be doing this. We’ve already brought in Ashcroft and Lankshear for the academy this season, both for fees.
