Enjoyed that. Accurate and informative, rather than biased rose-tinted stuff, which is what you often get from supporters who also write.

This, and the general quality of the writing (as always, very high - without any unnecessary hyperbole) , is what marks a proper journalist who does this as their profession apart from the thousands of awful fan-blog writers out there, many of whom are cripplingly biased in favour of their own team, and write like a fan, rather than a writer.

Good to see your stuff again - it's what actually made me originally sign up to SC back in 2005.

Great memory you've got. Those were good days, when we stopped being the mid-table mediocre Spurs of those times and started on the road to where we are now.

It was great as season before we'd splashed out on all these strikers and then had no midfielders!!! (typical Spurs over the years).

And then suddenly had all these shiny midfielders to pick from

In fact this summer is the first we've gone into the new season where I'm not thinking we really should have strengthened somewhere, be it a left winger, left-back, holding midfielder or forward lol.

Why do you roll your eyes about CCV? The kid is one of the most promising youth players in England. The only reason he doesnt get the hype is because England massively fucked up waiting too long to make contact and let the US swoop in. If he was an England youth international, the media would be all over him like they are Marcus Edwards and Josh Onomah.

Because it was the same hype with Veljkovic.

I think the difficulty of spelling a player's name
should be taken into account when signing players.

whats that all about.

My spelling has always been dier, the one thing you can't accuse whatsisname of.

We have the longest combined names at centre half.
and the most players with four letter names.
Statistics I eat 'em for breakfast.
