I can see us going for Gimenez.

He plays in a system similar to Ange's, is in our price range and we have been watching him for some time
Only scored twice in his last 11 league games. But I think you might well be right.

Personally I think David and Gimenez will be the two at the top of the list. We have had long standing interest in both and even linked by ITK. I personally have question marks about both but I could see us looking at them very seriously. They fit the age profile as well, 24 and 22.

Was speaking to one of mys client's who has played against David and he said he is fantastic, really rates him. I didn't provoke that answer either, he said it was one of Lille's biggest threats cause they were about to play them (when we spoke).

He played with Openda and also raved about him. But I agree, he may be out of our range

I think from a build up perspective David would be excellent but I must say I have never been convinced by his finishing. But he constantly puts up good numbers and he’s fast.

Not surprised about Openda, he looks very good but would expect Liepzig to want over 70 mil for him considering his numbers this season.

PL flop written all over him imo. Quite a few similarities to Vincent Janssen, doesn’t have any real standout attributes.
He is young plus obviously plays in a very similar style system as @rossdapep points out but I’m with you, I just have this feeling he would struggle. He does have good movement in the box, drifting off his marker and finding pockets of space but I’ve never been particularly impressed by his technique.

Yep exactly that and I feel like he’d be way too lumbering for the PL.

If that’s who we want we are better off keeping Richarlison imo.

Im not sure we need blistering pace from a 9, if both wide attackers are quick.
Evan Ferguson certainly has technique and ability to hold the ball up. I feel this season Brighton has been a bit up and down which hasn't helped him.
Joao Pedro may also be an option. He's possibly a bit too similar to Richarlison but he does have better technique and always seems a threat.

We don’t no but we want someone with decent mobility and good technique.

Tbh most of the names that we would probably be looking at have already been mentioned. Mainly because there just aren’t that many good strikers about.

You can forget about Gyökeres or Osimhen, we aren’t spending 100 mil on a striker. I don’t think they would even come if we did considering who else is looking for a CF.

Off the top of my head, just re strikers. Realistically I would think we will be looking at J David, S Giménez, B Sesko, J Zirkzee, possibly L Openda & V Boniface but I reckon they will want to stay + be very expensive, I Tony but I think his attitude will rightly put us off. Maybe we would have an eye on the contract situations of Lautaro and Vlahovic but I expect Martinez to renew and probably Vlahovic as well. Personally I’m not entirely convinced the likes of D Solanke, A Dovbyk and S Guirassy are of the required level and Villa aren’t selling us Watkins regardless if you rate him or not.
Thoughts on Evanilson and Leonardo?

Thoughts on Evanilson and Leonardo?
I wanted us to get Marcos Leonardo before he went to Benfica and said so at the time but we were never going to get him and Veliz. I like him but he’s only just moved so he’s not going anywhere any time soon. As for Evanilson, he does look an intriguing player who is having a good season but I think injuries will put us off before we look at him as a player.

I've always liked Mbeumo, would love to land him as our left footed pacy winger with an eye for goal.

I wonder if we will look at Summerville as a new winger. 17 goals and 8 assists this season.

In terms of strikers:

Gimenez - has been in really bad form recently. He is lumbering and has a bad touch. I really think he will flop in the prem and pray we dont go for him.

Jonathan David - works best as a second striker rather than a no.9. I would again be concerned if we go for him as I dont think he suits what we need. He also has a weird habit of playing like crap in the first half of the season and then being good for the second.

Toney - he is a twat. Bad attitude but he fits everything we need in a number 9. Annoyingly I would quite like to sign him and I dont think Arsenal or Chelsea will go for him so we could have a chance. Maybe Reguilon as part of the deal too.

Sesko - Ive championed him on here several times. Young, tall, very quick, great feet and can finish. I think he will become a superstar and should be at the top of our list.

Only others out there left would be completely unrealistic:

Osimhen - Too expensive
Isak - Too expensive
Boniface - wont leave BL and too expensive probably
Vlahovic - will sign a new deal
L Martinez - will sign a new deal

One thing I really like about Gibbs-White is how much leadership he shows with Forest - constantly trying to dictate and encourage them. Think he'd be a great addition.

For me a striker has to have something elite on their game

strength/power/hold up play

insane finishing

or lightening speed

something that opposition look at and dread - knowing they will have an awful time against them from first whistle to last.

to spend big money on anyone who does not have one or more attributes is a waste

I'm personally leaning towards Guirassy, aware that some might not agree. I'll definitely try to take some time to watch him a bit for the rest of the season to see more of what he's like (and why for example @Ghost Hardware doesn't agree).

The few times I've watched him, and from the highlights, he has a few skills that I believe should translate to any league in the world.

1. The way he always seems to create time and space for himself, that's a proper skill.
2. His composure. He doesn't look hurried or frantic, making calm decisions and finishing in stressful situations.
3. Variety of finishes. Left foot, right foot, headers. He's got great finishing technique and hits them well all over the net making it difficult for the keeper to predict where he's going to shoot. Can both place his finishes and hammer it from a distance.
4. Scores both from runs in behind, and scrambles in the box.
5. Can create his own opportunities, not just a fox in the box.

He's clearly modeled himself a lot after Kane, with their movement being very similar and I can see more than a bit of Kane in his finishing. Not to mention he's copied his celebrations.

I think the same about him, as he always seems to play well against us. But I hardly ever see him play unless it's against us and he doesn't seem to have a massive reputation, so maybe he just shines when we play them. The guy Semenyo, at Bournemouth, is the same, in that he's looked really good when we play them, but you never really hear much about him.

Toney does come across as a bit of a tit, but if he showed more maturity maybe Ange would go for it.

Hands down, from a physical and talent point of view he's the stand out option for me.

He'd score a fucking shit load in this team and his overall CF play is top notch.

Cant afford a 'season of adapting' with someone from the Dutch league

I like both of those players too but I’m not sure either of them are the kind of touchline wingers that Ange wants in his system.
