Joe Lewis was involved in the development of the training grounds for Orlando City and Orlando Pride. It's possible that his relationship with the clubs helped this transfer and the transfer of Shelina Zadorsky and Alanna Kennedy.
Zadorsky is our best signing in a long time imo. ?

Looks like it is indeed through the end of the season and not just end of 2020.

This short term type move may sound odd, but it’s actually very common in women’s football. For example, when women from the american league move over to England like Lavelle, Mewis, Kerr, Press, Daly, Heath, and Morgan have in the past year or so their American team “retains their rights” so if they return they go back to the same team.

So in 2017, Morgan played for Lyon for a year, won the champions league, and then returned to America. Player movement is just weird and very different for the women’s leagues.

There must be more to this. She must have a huge marketability in the US so this signing may be to promote the amazon store in the US
Yeah she is, the Women's world cup is actually a decently big deal, probably the biggest women's sporting event in the US other than the Olympics and Alex Morgan is a household name. My dad went to the same college as her and is die hard in every sport that they are good at so when I broke him the news that she is a Spur he fully screamed over the phone about how excited he was and asked how to watch the women's team play. This move will definitely increase marketability of Tottenham (mens and womens team) in the US. I'm not sure if the UK tottenham store has the same banner but when you first go on the site you are welcomed by a popup saying Morgan has signed and where to purchase the jersey hahah

I’m summer 2004 Chelsea signed Jose’s first choice striker, a big, powerful, athletic 24 year old Ivorian who had done the square root of fuck all most of his career, then out of nowhere scored at a rate of 1 in 2 in Ligue Un for two consecutive seasons, first for unfancied Guingamp, then for the far bigger Marseille. Chelsea fans had barely heard of him and knew little what to expect.

In summer 2020, Spurs are looking to sign Jose’s first choice striker, a big, powerful, athletic 25 year old Brazilian who had done the square root of fuck all most of his career, then out of nowhere scored at a rate of 1 in 2 in Primeira Liga for two consecutive seasons, first for unfancied Rio Ave, then for the far bigger Benfica. Spurs fans had barely heard of him and knew little what to expect.

Excellent.

Depressingly, probably biggest signing spurs made in years or likely to anytime soon
People who know about this have literally said further back in the thread that she is equivalent to Messi or Ronaldo, so you are almost certainly correct. Nothing depressing about it though.
