Pape Matar Sarr close to signing new contract

Tottenham Hotspur are close to securing Senegal midfielder Pape Matar Sarr to a new long-term contract.

Sarr, who scored Spurs’ opener against Bournemouth today before sustaining a hamstring injury and leaving the pitch distraught, has agreed the outline of a new and improved deal at the north London club.

While the contract has not yet been formally signed, an announcement confirming Sarr’s new terms is expected soon.
