That’s the point isn’t it. Football is non essential. We’re all trying to minimise risk. Adding a football squad plus support staff to a hotel with the existing staff and suppliers going in and out is irresponsible IMO. Not to mention you’re asking the football people to stay away from their families during a difficult time. It just doesn’t seem right.
I'm not saying that it's right but, to be honest given the risk we've already taken on, I don't see that to have a couple of thousand people in a highly regimented, well resourced and monitored environment does genuinely increase the risk that much.
I'm not advocating this at all, but it's probably riskier for us going to the shops. Sharing the air of unlimited strangers inside, with staff exposed to it all and in situ the whole time. Lots of elderly people around. People who could be breaking the self-isolation guidelines etc. etc.
Presumably the people working in their grotesque football campus will be healthy and willing and hopefully they will invest in all the necessary safety precautions plus have plenty of the celebrity coronavirus tests available.
