Making ridiculous, he-never-should-have-got-there saves was never his weakness.

but, to play devils advocate.. it was a non pressure situation with no defenders crowding the area, where he was under strict instructions not to come and claim the cross. so he had no decisions to make, just stand there and wait for the shot (once crossed, it was obvious who was going to take the shot, no passing). I don't think his shot stopping per se is in question, more his decision making under pressure, which leads to lapses in conifdence etc. right?

Oh, I know.
I was going to add that I love the big fella, I really do, so no-one will be happier if he resurrects his career with us, but he fills everyone with dread, from the fans to the back four, at the slightest whiff of a cross of a ball to be swept, or even a routine save. The back four need to have confidence in the 'Keeper, and, as said over and over again in regard to the signing of Friedel, it is one thing to accept that a goal was unstoppable, or even that the 'Keeper just couldn't get to it, it is another thing altogther to spend every single second of every game on tenterhooks at the idea that the most non-threatening of situations could lead to throwing away all of your hard-work - we get the former with Brad and the latter with the Octopus and, in that case, it just doesn't seem to matter one tiny little iota how many brilliant saves he puts in for the club, because the msitakes can spread to the defence amking mistakes in situations where they can't trust the 'keeper to deal with the tamest of balls...adn it ends up spreading through the team.

I was gonna say this, but have done so many times in the many appropriate threads, so thought I'd give it a miss...how wrong I was :)

Waiting for news on the VDV and Walker injuries. I assume they were just precautions but VDV's hamstrings really are a concern.

I'm glad we've bought Siggy cos I don't think VDV is fit enough to last too long these days, seems to be getting worse if anything.

yeah, Siggy looked good last night too, set one up and shoulda had one himself again. In a midfield 3 of Sandro, Moutinho and Siggy, i think we have a nice balance of pace, power, energy, and creativeness.

I love Rafa, but he struggles after every summer tournament, he really needs the rest pre-season.

Not Spurs related, but I work across from Fenway here in Boston and a mate asked me to go see Liverpool v. Roma, 1984 Final Part 2. I wasn't interested as they are charging ridiculous prices, but got walk-up seats for $20, standing room only (and snagged a seat to boot). It was a thoroughly entertaining match for a pre-season friendly. You can see how Liverpool and Tottenham will be playing very similar football if both coaches keep their jobs :). But they can't shoot for shit. They must have row Zed 15 shots. But that Roma side has some talent. They were a fun team to watch. Ended 2-1 and Bradley scored the opener which made it interesting as even the Liverpool fans cheered him scoring.

Right, with Defoe now leaving the tour, we're left with just Kane as our only striker. Time for him to make his mark, and our first chance to see him starting alongside our best players.

Here's the schedule of events for the game in Baltimore. Messrs Parks and Freund will also be attending Friday evening event.

There's an Orioles baseball (aka professional rounders) game next door at Camden park later that evening and the parking is shared by both stadia.
