Yes, there were players ahead of him in his position but it must have been even more off-putting to see that even if nobody is available in your position, you still don't get game time. Ask Dorrington, Philips and even Donley.It certainly is a strange one for Brentford, a huge amount of money (for them) for someone so young and unproven.
For the player, it's the right move (imo), much more chance of becoming a starter sooner rather than later.
At Spurs he'd be behind Son, Kulusevski, Johnson, Werner and Soloman. I also don't agree with Spurs "just pay what they want" argument. At 25m that's far too much, that's Bentancur and Kulusevski money.
He looks good and certainly very good for his age, but I'd rather we put that to someone who's a starter now.
