poor choice of words - he wasn't easy to define in terms of a specific role. There, fixed itAnyone who couldn't tell what Modric brought to the team didn't know a thing about football
Although he wasn't a jack of all trades or anything either. He was an exceptional passer and dribbler. So good at receiving the ball in tight spaces. Great reader of the game. He really stood out in a few areas. Sorry but its nothing at all like Gallagher for me. I would have thought the comparison would be more like a Jenas to be honest.poor choice of words - he wasn't easy to define in terms of a specific role. There, fixed it

But no one is likely to pay them that much, so the real question is, do they need to sell him so badly they would take £35m? What about 30m? That’s when a deal starts to get really interesting. Not him but others have reported Chelsea need to sell him for 40-50m. It’s been repeated so much I get the impression Chelsea board are pushing it, Gallagher is their biggest FFP asset and clearly they have issues.
No move happens without Gallagher's approval and while the board might want to push him out, he has a manager who has started him every single game he has been available in the league. Not him but others have reported Chelsea need to sell him for 40-50m. 100%. It took a while for fans of other teams to realise what he was bringing at spurs. Because he wasn’t a goals/assists/highlights player.Completely agree but unless you were watching spurs regularly then you wouldnt appreciate how good he is as he didn't get many assists or goals but if you watched him regularly you would know just how good he is. It wasn't until likes of sky etc started to highlight him that non spurs fans realised how good he is.
Alot of us only watch spurs with the odd other big game so we might see most teams 3-4 times a season which lets be honest isn't enough to form a proper opinion about a player. Chelsea fans appear to really like him so he has to have something about him. Don't think we will spend what it takes to get him this month but really hope we get him.

That’s clearly the figure they are putting out in the press, but I bet they’ll get twitchy and take less at the end of the window.that crook guy talksport said chelsea WILL sell for 45m for ffp reasons, dont know if thats old news
This is why announcing the FFP breaches now could help - be better if they had come with an initial penalty involved - i.e. 10 point deduction, that the clubs can appeal. That’s clearly the figure they are putting out in the press, but I bet they’ll get twitchy and take less at the end of the window.
The analysis by Swiss Ramble projected that they're on track to exceed next year's threshold by about £100million, so they need to clear that by June 30th to avoid sanctions.Depends on their FFP requirement. They might need a minimum of say £38m to meet their requirements. It’s not money per se they need as they are rich but rather to meet a regulation. Little point of selling if it doesn’t get what they need.

Agree - you have described modric perfectly - in the global game, he wasn't the best passer or dribbler but he did everything so well (probably his reading of the game was his strongest suit) that the overall package was beyond exceptional! Not saying conor is like modric at all - just reflecting that he is a player who doesn't need to be best at everything - he just seems to do everything at a good level already and as we've seen Ange's coaching improve so many players, I imagine that Ange sees some kind of potential in him for our teamAlthough he wasn't a jack of all trades or anything either. All noises have been that he’s the one Ange wants. I think the FFP element just gives us a potential in where we wouldn’t dream of having one otherwise.Whilst I personally do rate Gallagher and would love to sign him, I hope we aren't looking at him simply because there is a potential deal to be done with Chelsea due to FFP.
If he's the right man he's the right man and I hope that's a call made on the footballing side.
And to be fair I believe we are doing that more these days.
