One thing that was abundantly clear to me when at the Arsenal game is what an elite attitude Declan Rice has. Yes he’s an important player, but the one thing that jumped off the page at me was how much of a leader he is. For me, that’s something we really lack, a real never say die leader in the middle of the park pulling the team through sometimes.

I’m not saying Gallagher is that, but having seen him a few times recently, he could be. He shows great maturity, fight, drive and desire. He has a fire inside him and he’s not a half bad footballer to boot. At 50mil, in todays market I would see it as a no brainer.
Wash your mouth out, PEH is a warrior 🤪

Gallagher for anything between £35-50M, or Archie Gray for whatever Leeds will let him go for?

Yes, I know Gray 99,99% won´t leave Leeds if they win the promotion playoffs (looking at their form, I won´t bet on it).

Gallagher better than Sarr, Bentancur, PEH and Kulu. He improves us for sure, could we do better, maybe but he’s proven to be a better player than what we have.

If he's used how Palace used him and where IIRC he did really well and I think he got forward a lot more, he could do really well here. When he was there, a lot of people on SC were whopping their todgers out and decorating the walls over him :playful:

Having said that, I can't see it happening, which means he's probably already halfway to holding up the shirt :D
In light of D1’s itk, I think it’s worth posting this video as I think you were spot on here in that it’s Palace’s version of Gallagher we want rather than Chelsea’s.

An immense athlete who will run all day, and will contribute massive output in front of goal with his late box crashing and finishing (something that is not natural to Sarr and has completely left his game since the start of the season).

To anyone that watched a lot of Ange’s Celtic, you’ll realise that what Gallagher was doing at Palace is almost exactly the same as what Matt O’ Reilly was doing at Celtic but obviously at even higher of a level.

Every single report coming out of Chelsea is that he is still up for sale, and everything coming out of Pochettino’s mouth suggests similar as he admits it completely out of his control.

"Proven" to be better by helping the most expensive squad in the PL (and world football?) to finish below us two years in a row? :ROFLMAO:

With Poch out you have to assume Gallagher is likely to be our first summer signing.
I hope not. I like him and I know Ange really likes him but with Bentancur, Sarr and Bergvall already in that position I don’t see the need. I don’t really see Gallagher pushing Maddison as he’s not that type of player and he’s not an out and out 6 either.

I’m hoping we do sign him.

For me, playing Bentancur & Sarr with Gallagher in front, in place of Maddison, would make us a lot more solid for certain matches.

Why is it more likely?

He's still a Chelsea lad.
He is but it is clear that his club want/need to sell him and now with Poch gone you have to assume that at least part of the reason he left is because the club are going to sell Gallagher against his wishes.

They don't need to sell.

I'm not sure about that, certainly wouldnt leap to that assumption
