Not necessarily mate, the club know 100% if/when Kane leaves they need to do something serious to appease the fans so I would highly expect the likes of Muani/Vlahovic to come in very quickly following his departure. I know we have spoken to Frankfurt & Juventus about both players.
Vlahovic has not really stepped up at Juve.
I know little about Muani but his goalscoring record is not particularly impressive. Others seem quite happy with this link so must have something about him.

I worry that if we get 100m, then ALL our remaining transfers will need to come from that fee, knowing Levy we're holding off on any other signings to see what we can squeeze out of the Kane fund and avoid as much net spending as possible. Again, this makes everything very last minute and messes with the build-up to the new season like usual. Anything we recoup from Kane should be seen as additional and has to be spuffed on a worldie.
Exactly how i feel probably gets us one defender and replacement striker.

Sorry, three names Ange would accept- by way of replacement- who’s the third, if we’re talking to Frankfurt and Juve about two of them?

Both of whom would be on long contracts.

Irrespective of whose fault it may be we're in a difficult situation. This at least allows us to move forward.
Agree but if we only sign 2 players for say close to the amount we get for Kane. Is that why the delay on signings? As none left till we sell Kane just thinking out loud lol.

it's all very confusing right now.

I've just had a conversation with an agent(close to the club) who 100% believes this is already agreed in principle between Spurs and Bayern, and it's about lining up ducks now before it happens.

On the other hand another guy I trust believes Bayern still aren't close, but we are already lining up possible replacements just in case, according to him we have been for a while just in case. He also said Ange is OK with it, as long as we get one of the three we've sounded out(names are all out there). He believes it's 50/50.

My personal opinion is I want him to stay and build around him, but at the same time if he definitely isn't going to sign a new deal as far as a full rebuild is concerned, he has to go now.
Thanks for the info as always.

Completely agree that if Kane has signalled he's not signing another deal then we need to sell him now whilst he still has a transfer value.

After Bayern's antics and arrogance, I would love it if we managed to sell Kane to PSG or even Saudi rather than Bayern.

That was the ‘expectation within the Kane camp’ two years ago as well. It doesn’t matter much if no one is willing to pay for him.

Different situation to last year though. We had more leverage. Now it’s the prospect of losing him for nothing or getting approx £80-100m for him.

Despite all the differing views, Levy/Lewis were never going to allow that to happen, whether some fans wanted us to squeeze another season out of him or not.

I'm just relieved if he doesn't go to Utd.

Personally think Vlahovic may absolutely thrive on all the potential cutbacks and balls into the box. Who knows how likely such a deal may be though.

Possibly, but Randal looks far more versatile in that he can play across the front 3.

Losing a goal machine and talisman is a tough start for a new manager. Postecoglu will find himself under pressure and hopefully fans and chairman have some fortitude to stick it out.

It's not surprising he wants to leave, but I'll still be surprised if he agrees to move overseas. I can't see the club messing around too long on a fee with bayern if he's willing to go there. About the best of the bad outcomes Levy could've hoped for.

Thanks for the ITK.
I think it's the best outcome. The club needs a fresh approach, a fresh start.
New players will come in, players previously in the shadows will stand up, we have a new manager with a fresh philosophy.
We all know we need pace, pace and more pace in this ever modern and evolving game.
And Harry's legacy, professionalism and high standards will reverberate around the squad for many seasons to come.

I see this as an opportunity and welcome the new era.

Think all the attackers at Juve look pretty terrible under Allegri. Not sure how much you can judge him based on that. Bit of a graveyard for attacking talent atm.

Could do with a thread with a poll on who we would want to replace Kane if he leaves. Saves spamming this thread and that stuff gets lost in the Kane one.
