Good start Scott, the Spursplay broadcast of U21 v Wolves has broken down, when you going to fix it?

PS He's good this Scott bloke , it's working again, hope he is at the game tomorrow to see the problems he has to solve.

this isn’t a DOF level position. this a levy-level executive board position. this seems much more like levy stepping away from football matters than appointing a DOF.

if that’s the case this is the best signing we’ll make all year

I can’t see levy ever stepping away but new blood at board level has to be good news.

Must have been why levy was in Asia the other week.

I don't really see this as a sign that Levy is stepping back at all. When Paratici got appointed he was also put in charge of all the footballing operations of the club (his job title was literally Managing Director, Football) and yet Levy still meddled with signings and the appointment of Conte. This to me just seems like planning for life after Paratici, which is a good thing at least, but I suspect Levy will still be Levy.

I think this can only mean that Levy is stepping back it clearly says he will be in charge of all football departments. This is the decision we have been hoping for he’s getting out of the way finally. Let’s hope success the new guy had in running rugby previously and sides in smaller competitions can translate.

Whether Levy will still do Levy stuff this appointment is clearly saying that this guy will be in charge of the football side of things. He’s not a dof, he’s above the dof. Board level I guess. Really really hope this is the start of a new process across the whole club from academy upwards. Whether Levy is desperate to get involved or not I really hope Munn comes up with a plan of sorts.

Maybe this means we’re shooting for a satellite development club (Munn being a part of City football group knows all about that)

He's just a general sports administrator ceo money man type type..

"Scott, former City Football Group Executive, has extensive experience within sporting having started his career with the Sydney Organising Committee for the 2000 Olympic Games and then transitioning into the National Rugby League, before joining the Australia Football League. Scott joined Melbourne City FC as Chief Executive Officer in 2010. In 2019 he was appointed Chief Executive Officer of City Football Group China."

"Scott transitioned to a position within the commercial operations of the National Rugby League (NRL), before joining Australia’s established code, the Australia Football League (AFL). While with the AFL, Scott contributed to the expansion of a second team into the competition in Queensland, the Gold Coast Suns. Scott was installed as Melbourne City FC Chief Executive Officer in the Club’s inaugural year in 2010, and in nine years with the Club he drove substantial growth across the sporting and commercial arms of the organisation, with ever improving results of the field, including the men’s first ever silverware in 2016 and back-to-back Championships for the women’s team. In 2019, he was appointed as Chief Executive Officer of City Football Group (CFG) China, and now oversees all of CFG’s operations in China."

Hopefully he knows how to work constructively with people and set up proper structures within said organisation. A-league is pretty small time, his experience with the City group might at least got him some exposure to football people outside of Australia.

Also Melbourne city's success was due to money, they hardly have any fans and would run at a massive loss, but for city's cash.

I'll wait before judging. But it does seem like a good start to the rebuild if this was to signify Levy stepping away from footballing matters.

A good decision that represents what people keep saying they want to happen, ie Levy being less involved, so I'm excited to read how it's still seen as a negative.
