Again, no they don't. There have been numerous posts defending the treatment, and let's be honest is their any point in you yet again saying he's not good enough? Does that bring anything new? In fact I think the only thing the thread is fairly unanimous on is that we need a new RWB, and that if we can we should move him on.

So can I ask have you got anything new to discuss because to be honest his treatment from the fans is the only thing currently that hasn't been debated to death regarding Emerson.
I feel like my point is being twisted or will be by the brain brigade into me supporting the booing and abuse hes getting despite previous posts. Its fine lets talk about the crowd some more, if not society as a whole.
You have a point though, I suppose its not new information about his limitations. But if those are the rules these threads would get very boring and short quite quickly. Anyway its Sunday so didnt want an argument

ST holder here.

Am disgusted with my fellow fans both in the stadium and on here.

What the f*** is wrong with you, both as Spurs fans and human beings?

Sort it out.

The biggest issue isn't whether we think he is good enough or not, it's that every team we play knows he isn't so they target his side when we're attacking and over mark out left hand side when defending because they know he isn't capable of doing anything.
But then in the 343 there were times when that backfired because Emerson would get on the ball in space and slot through to Kulusevski. Now we have that threat from Deki teams will have to re-adjust their approach. Its been a big issue in 352 because Emerson is the only one that side. We've even pushed Skipp forward from right centre midfield but he's been no better in attack. We had a great run in a 343 when Deki was playing in front of Emerson.

The thing is - you dont need to be world class to be better than Emerson although acting like Spence is the second coming of Cafu is also out there.

Again as I mentioned not his fault he is playing, that is down to Conte. Emerson has a couple of decent qualities but in general he is very poor. That miss over the bar - we all knew what will happen - the players, the opposition, the fans. He isnt why we have lost previously or even playing poorly and clearly isnt a RWB. If he played for anyone else - we would all be laughign our heads off.
Hate this but it's the sort pathetic quote I've come to expect to be honest

Hes just nok good enough. Still Conte picks him week in week out. Just dont understand it.
RWB should be no 1 priority come january.

Not at all, I am very aware of your opinions on Royal and personally don't put you in the same bracket as those we are condemning. If I did we wouldn't even be having this conversation.

Poor Ian ?

Totally agree. I am a long way from being a fan of Royal, but to humiliate the man when he is subbed by booing at him is beyond the pale and makes me ashamed of those so-called fans who were jeering. It's not his fault that he's not a RWB, but is played in that role and he always works hard when on the pitch. In addition, he also seems a pretty decent person, all of which make the actions of this faction of fans, unsporting and cruel.

However, these idiots demean only themselves, similar to those who abuse opposition players when they take corners and make 'wanker signs' at them. Indeed, 'what the f*** is wrong with you'.

I don’t think he’s that bad in a lot of a lot of aspects of the game, the abuse is really harsh. Our fan base is strange in a way, we’ve talked up and loved some average/poor players over the years and still do. Holtby, Mendes, Taino and plenty of others. For example Is PEH that much of a better footballer, obviously different positions but not for me, yet he’s seemingly loved and really rated, bizarre. Dier, Sanchez don’t get anywhere near the amount of grief. I could understand it more if the rest of our team was top notch, but some of them are nowhere near it.

And he most likely won't improve either, but yelling abuse at him sure as hell doesn't help or make a blind bit of difference. All it does is create a toxic atmosphere and make people with any modicum of common sense or empathy curl their toes up. It's a horrible thing to do but they're arseholes and seem to enjoy doing it.

The thing is he has clearly improved in the final third.

People have real short memories; we were struggling in a CL game a couple of weeks ago (Marseille) and I believe he came on and we were much better in the 2nd half turning it around and qualifying top of the group. This is a reason why he is ahead of Doherty at the moment.

Behaviour of some of the so called fans yesterday was just sad. They were shouting out negative comments as the ball was reaching him. Sanchez had the same and whilst he was partially at fault for a goal, he actually created some good positions with incisive passing down the right. It is almost like these people want the players to fail. With a few notable exceptions most players played poorly at some point of the match with poor control and misplaced passes. Then you see the incisiveness of the 4th goal and wonder where these players have been hiding. It is obvious now that Emerson will never make it at Tottenham as even if he plays well, any mistake will be jumped on and the cycle will begin again. I personally would prefer us to replace Emerson in January or the Summer as I just think he will struggle to make it as an effective wingback but whilst he is playing I will support him even if he frustrates the hell out of me.

No mate, I didn't hear your stream. I was too busy in my seat at the ground where I am each week, with a 6hour round trip, with him under my nose for the first half, struggling to be a footballer.

Oh good, so you’ll have seen his throw which led to a goal then. Or do you only have selective vision and hearing from your seat after that epic commute?

How is it pathetic. He is being selected to play. So how is it his fault he is playing. Therefore booing him is unacceptable. But I have also come to expect people making remarks without fully understanding the post and in the previous posts where ive said I dont know how people can boo - its a silly sound. Oh well!
