Of course but today SHOULD HAVE BEEN the one game he could rest certain players.

With the huge game on Wednesday and the huge game on Tuesday and Liverpool to come, he's decided he needed to rest a few today. Its worked and failed at the same time as those whk started were garbage and those who came on helped change it.

He was so pissed off with that VAR goal because he knew it meant we could rest players against Marseille and go strong today. That didnt happen so he's had to do the opposite instead.

Its not easy managing a squad. Especially a squad with limited ability and big injuries to key players.

Which is why I've repeatedly stated that we need to get to WC break with CL qualification and good distance from the top in PL.

We are a few points off the top and a positive result at Marseille away from getting through a really tough period.
I'm thinking in terms of attitude and application at least as much as in personnel.

Our defenders aren't very good, especially on the right side. It should be stating the bleeding obvious but when the squad's talent is overloaded in attack, maybe you shouldn't base your game plan on a low block and hoofball?

Imagine what we could do if we had a creative attacking midfielder or two in our team.. I can wish

For all the Emerson/Sanchez dogpiling it's worrying that the last four goals we've conceded in the league have all come down the other side...

Wonder if that's a turning point for Sessegnon who had been very average until he scored and then played really well until subbed.

I am still not convinced by Conte. He is the one to pick the team and anyone knows that having Sanchez and Emerson on the same team is a disaster waiting to happen. It almost happened and we could have been easily smashed by a better team. The players are capable of good attacking play but they have to do it consistently and not sit back which puts so much pressure on our shaky defence.

I thought we started really well. How more some of you want TBH? The poor defenders we have was a fault of nobody's but them. And Skipp was unfortunately not playing in the right position. If we are to play with these players clearly the formation needs some sorting. But if we have started the team that ended the game, we probably wouldn't be 2-0 down.

Annnnd that's what we can't rotate.

The alternatives aren't up to it.

We can rotate, just not like we seem to do.

Small changes when needed through out the season for me. Keep players fresh and keep consistency from game to game.

I still think that Ventrone's death is massively affecting the whole club, and Conte is just feeling quite down at the moment.
I disagree. Players around the world have played the day after one of their parents have died and put in performances, and dedicate it to them.

We have been playing shit until subs come on since the beginning of the season.

Need to stop using their coach passing as an excuse. It's disrespectful.

Good character and much more drive in the second half but how much was about us upgrading the quality of player? Bentancur is excellent and just Dier was much more aggressive going forward.

Cherries tired and got nervous also I think.

We are not a joy to watch either way at the moment.
Thought Dier looked pretty good in that RCB role today (I know, just Bournemouth etc), but if Romero isn't fit for Marseilles then Dier RCB and Lenglet CB could solve the Sanchez problem.

wonder if Conte knows we could probably expend a lot less energy and rest players if we weren't chasing our asses for most of the game.

Thank fuck for that, huffed and puffed pretty desperately but we got the job done, and have to pray that is the catalyst the team needed. Can't lose sight though that both collectively and for basically every individual we need to improve massively. We are light years off it at the moment.
