A team playing without Emerson is so flawless in attack. No breaking down of attacks is so pleasing on the eye. If this is not obvious enough for Emerson to be omitted from playing I don't know what's is.

I think we are seeing how much better we are when we have a few more attacking players. As for Bentancur, the lad is really making himself indispensable alongside Hojberg.

but the way we start games is really not good enough and we can’t keep having to chase games.

There is nothing wrong with an observation. I’m pleased with the 3 points but I’m not going to let that mask what I see. It could be the recent death of a staff member. It could be a number of things. The point is we’re not the same team we were at the end of last season. I want to see Conte given time and backed but let’s be honest here.

I put the match on in the 70th minute and it was great to watch. No coincidence that's usually when we start playing. It doesn't matter who comes on we play better after the first set of subs. Anyone can come on.

Good character and much more drive in the second half but how much was about us upgrading the quality of player? Bentancur is excellent and just Dier was much more aggressive going forward.

Cherries tired and got nervous also I think.

We are not a joy to watch either way at the moment.

We look very good when we attack. It puts less pressure on our defence which looks suspect when under pressure.

Could open up the defence for counters, but that's happening anyway....

Could help fitness is he can control the ball and get it moving rather than chasing it

I'm going to enjoy my evening now. Again though it was blood and guts over patterns of play.

Just too many players not good enough technically and I don't see the plan to break teams down.

Thankfully after they went 2 up they started getting nosebleeds and withdrew 10 yards giving us the midfield.

We may be playing shit at times. But for those who said we are playing like Nuno ball, ffs. The lads are still obviously playing for Conte.

I feel like no one else wouldve finished that ball aside from Kane, wouldnt even trust Son with it. Perfect execution and calmness by Rodrigo, fucking love him

I said at the start of the second half that I’d reached the end of my patience with Conte because he had persisted with the Royal-Sanchez pairing. When Bournemouth’s second went in I said I wanted him gone.

He eventually made the change that needed to be made and it worked brilliantly. It came belatedly, both in the context of the match and in the context of the season as a whole, but it finally came.

I truly think this will mark a turning point. Conte’s system is dependent on players who suit his requirements. We’ve got a handful of backups who don’t work in their roles, but today marks real progress toward finding those that do.
