Oh, I agree about player valuations completely - if I was Everton i wouldn't be letting him go for anything under £60m, and I wouldn't be letting Gordon go at all. If that's what he's worth to them then that's what he's worth in the market. Whether he's worth that to US is a different story and is subjective.

Also, stat was quoted directly to provide context in response to someone saying Bergwijn was shit because he played 60 games and had X number of goals, when in reality he's probably only played 30 90s or something.
Fair enough. Although I do think stats like that are incredibly narrow and often don't prove much. If both Richarlison and Bergwijn were playing a similar amount of minutes per season then maybe it starts to become interesting. But if SB is playing a very limited number of minutes there is a reason for that which the stat alone doesn't take into account.

I'm fairly nonplussed about Richarlison myself but the 60m being mentioned is what we would expect of Chelsea/City/United to be spending on a forward with his attributes and experience, assuming the deal has a fair proportion of add-ons etc. It is very weird after the numbers we were hearing for Martinez last summer, but at least there is less risk of Richarlison becoming the latest Soldado for us.

Its funny how people completely ignore the fact that he can improve leaps and bounds playing in a significantly better team and under one of the best coaches in world football.
Same people who ovelook the fact Jesus has been playing at Man City when they look at his stats and that he'll be moving to a worse team and a worse coach.

Really excited to get this guy in. He's gonna be just as good as Deki has been, in my opinion. 2 brilliant options to go with our world class Kane and Son, and Lucas to be our cheerleader on the bench ?

sign them all - lets have a party
I agree with you on your last point, Richarlison.. firstly this story is driven by the press , I'm not saying that AC is not interested in Richarlison, however he's only one of the options their looking at .... all this talk of agreement is driven today by the Sun and this purporting meet with DL and Kenright , which the sun concluded theirs a deal .. AC & PF have an agenda which their following without listening to the noise and that does not nessacary include Richarlison

not one of these stories is driven by the sun, there are plenty of articles from very reputable journalists from all 3 days saying a deal is close

Richarlison is one of those players who worries me when he's on the opposition team sheet as I know he can hurt us. I think he'd do well for us.

Spend years not signing a long term solution up front. Get linked to a premier league proven centre forward who ticks all the right boxes. People complain its too expensive
And the ones complaining would probably be the ones moaning that we show no ambition if Chelsea snapped him up at 60m

Intrigued to find out if people believe Richarlison would be enough in the forward positions. Perisic could cover of course, but with Sessegnon's injury troubles we're maybe still a little on the light side at LWB if it's for a long period. Might be worth keeping Troy Parrott or Reguilon around.

Are we not jumping the gun here a little bit when none of our own ITK's have said we are close on this one or even had a bid accepted.

Mate you've been downplaying the links all week. Today we've got about 6 different sources saying we're pushing ahead with the deal, including a number of Brazilian journos that initially broke our interest, and yet you're still putting some negative spin on it. I don't really get it?

The guy who "purported" that Levy met Kenwright was a former top BBC journo who doesn't even report on sports and happened to be in the same restaurant.

The day he signs are you going to say the photos aren't real and it's all a big conspiracy?

We’ve been linked with a number of pacey dribbler types. There was Diaz in January, and Saint-Maximim, Raphinha, and Gordon so far this summer. That appears to be the profile of a player that is still on Paratici’s list.
