Gio is flying to South America today and will be there til after the window closes. Does that not massively complicate attempts to squeeze him out the door?
Nah, players get sold while on International duty all the time. Imagine he'll do a medical with the Argentina doctors if needed?

I do agree on the importance of getting the surplus players out who are on big wages and may command decent fees ( even if that was after impressing on loan).

Does worry me who we will bring in though. I would hope we could at least do some more loans ( with or without options ourselves ) and then see where we are come the summer.

The last thing we need is to bring in average players that aren’t going to make a difference on a permanent deal to replace the other average players who aren’t going to make a difference who we’ve managed to shift.

I know you’d like that but….will tomorrow be Traore Tuesday
If the opportunity exists, We MUST get rid of Ndom, GLC and Dele, they are raping our budget

Lets see I think the key here is how good FP is at shifting out the dead wood. There is a lot of money in wages sat around twiddling their thumbs right now and although there is money to spend bringing in 3 and not moving players out will be harmful in the long term.

Pretty sure shifting deadwood was one of the main criticisms from his time at Juve along with signing players on insane contracts like Ramsey. Let's hope it won't be an issue now.

Well he had a completely different remit at Juve from what I understand, which was to make sure he got the players. No surprise it's hard to shift them the contracts they were on. So lets just wait and see.

Hate the use of the word "raping" in this context. Always makes me cringe a bit.

Im happy with 2 as long as that second player is a creative/attacking midfielder, other positions can wait till the summmer tbh

Sometimes I think Val gets excited as a fan and posts as such like the ‘birthday week’ post.

Like ITKs point out all the time, things are constantly changing.

Be very difficult to add 3 without shipping any out.

This is what always happens, sometimes ITK's put certain expressions out which are ambiguous to say the least and then people's imaginations run wild and then they're left disappointed because it doesn't match what actually happens, I think that's why valenciaYid left in the first place as those sort of posts caused conflict. Personally think it's best to not get excited by those type of posts and stick to the ones with the actual info in.

Delaney gets more wrong than right. 2 instances of the top of my head: 1. Poch having a release clause in his contract to go to Real Madrid and 2. Mourinho wouldn't be sacked at Man U, he was then sacked the next day.

So basically, I wouldn't listen to him. Not sure he knows his arse from his elbow. Apart from our guys info, keeping an eye on the reporters from Italy. That is probably going to be where we should be looking this last week for info on transfers (or whenever the window ends).

I'm not sure I get this idea that we have to get players in if we shift out the ones we want to shift.
Obviously we want to get players in but it's not like we use them much is it so how much will we really miss them other than as a late substitution. better to let them go and work with who is left until summer than keep them too long.
If we have to keep ne I suspect we'd prefer to keep Lo Celso out of the names mentioned

Thank you. I had no idea of his track record.

Makes sense when you consider those 3 players are taking wages of like £400k a week from us. Would be nice to say fuck it and bring their replacements in but we know that's not how we operate. Hopefully we can shift them.

I'm happy only if Conte is happy with the outcome of this window, and that doesn't necessarily mean he gets all he's targets, it just means Conte is satisfied that he hasn't been dicked around by the club and he is satisfied via Paratici that we are doing all we can to genuinely get the players he wants, sometimes you can't get who you want and have genuinely tried.
No point bringing in alternatives for the sake of it, I think our squad is full of those players as it is. ....that's our problem.

If it wasn't clear, then this is what I meant re: my girthy hairy python post.

Thanks for mansplaining, sf77.
