Regarding Paratici; Romero and Emerson came out with credit yesterday. Gollini as a backup GK can't really be assessed whilst Gil and Sarr are future prospects.

Not a lot to judge him by as there's arguably only two first team signings there. Yes we needed a backup forward but I still think he and all of us have been fucked by Kane being kept on.

His manager choices Gattuso and Nuno, nuff said

Sack Nuno.
Replace Levy with a new chairman.
Offload Kane, Winks, Dele, Davies etc.
Hire Potter.
Back Potter with significant funds.
Give Potter time to build.

Not sure Paratici has been a disaster; the players he's brought in have been okay, given the financial constraints

I’m trying not to exaggerate, RE a disaster… He was brought into appoint a manager, vetoed Fonseca because he was too attacking, ended up fannying around with his seedy mate Gatusso, and ended up pushing for Nuno. Pretty shocking start.

He’s brought in Romero, excellent business but this should be a par for the course. Emerson looks good business. Definitely done some good work.

Gil for Lamela could work out in a few years, but at the moment we really miss a player like Lamela, so we’re suffering because of that decision.

ITK suggested he was pushing for Kane to leave, which is fair enough, but obviously doesn’t have the necessary power to push through key decisions with Levy, proved by the Adama debacle at the end of the window.

No Kane backup? Winks, Dele, Davies, Sanchez… still at the club and depreciating in value by the day?

It’s not great.

The bullshit has started

Appreciate I may be in the minority, but really no interest in this guy. 18 whirlwind months where we’ll probably splurge on a few players before he walks out in a huff.

Stop opting for what might be a short-term fix and accept we need to rebuild. Commit to someone who’s going to be here four four/five years and play the ‘DNA football’ now rather than wasting more money.

Just my thoughts re Conte

Definitely some good points in there, but it's difficult to work out what's true and what's not, and how much Levy is sticking his oar in.

Btw, I'm not a Paratici apologist (I'm not fussed either way to be honest) and he may well be a disaster over the coming few seasons, but I just think we'll have to give him another couple of transfer windows to see how things pan out.

This appointment is massive. We need a hungry coach, who wants to work with a DOF and who wants to play the likes of Gil and bring through some youth. We need an identity.
Conte is the wrong choice for so many reasons.
That manager needs to be sold a vision. We are stepping stone for someone who wants to manage at the very top. ETH and Potter were always the best choices on the summer and still are now.
Levy, Paratici, Hitchen need to sell a vision not lurch at another coach like they did with Fonseca/Gattuso/Nuno.
Gerrard btw is struggling up here. Rangers are not playing well and are scraping through games. It'll be interesting to see if he can turn it round. He would not be my choice just yet.

Give chris powell a shot

Obviously I don't know, but there is a chance that Powell doesn't want to be a manager/first team coach anymore.

When Mourinho left, I was thinking he'd be the obvious choice to be the interim manager, with his experience, etc.

But it went to Mason, so perhaps they asked him and he said no.

Not sure, but it's a possibility.

Ahh, the Conte rumours. Back on June 3rd, I thought we had him, went out for my birthday meal, got home and saw it was all off. It was a fun evening believing the bald man was actually doing something decent. Didn’t last long.

I actually think Conte’s formation and tactics would suit our squad. Obv we’d need a couple of extra players - Kessie, Ginter etc - but I think it could work.

I recall getting slated for suggesting Potter in the summer.
Truth is none of them will come without guarantees that they'll get support for what they want to do and they won't get those guarantees and if they do they won't believe them.

ETH and Potter - and any other bright young thing - won’t come to Spurs. Too much of a risk for them In terms of career progression.

You can point fingers at individual players BUT if you listen to Nuno speak - he is dour has no personality no charisma and this team reflect this on the pitch exactly

The team have fallen into a collective depression - no one looks like they want to be out there - no one looks like they are enjoying their job and hence you get seriously sub standard performances

This is only going to change with a change of manager and it does now make sense of why Nuno left wolves with lots of burnt out chat - the evidence is before our eyes..
