Gallardo is an absolutely brilliant manager and if he coached in Europe instead of South America every big club in Europe would be trying to hire him and we'd have no shot.

As for whether he speaks English or not who cares? He'll learn. Poch didn't speak a word of English when he got hired by Southampton and it certainly didn't bother him any.

For anyone mildly interested in Gallardo and has no idea about him, here’s a brief Tifo run down from last year.

Don't see any of Potter, ten Hag, Conte, Zidane, Gerrard or Lopetegui being interested in joining our sinking ship.

I can see us giving it to Howe until the end of the season and seeing what our options are then.

The whole 2 year contract thing just doesn't work (players, fans, everyone know that it's not going to last, so it's doomed from the outset), and I can't see us offering the likes of Parker anything longer than that.

Most of the names on that list wouldn't come to us right now anyway. Even the more derided suggestions such as Howe would think twice about coming to us. 5th manager in 2 years? We're a bigger joke than watford with our manager-a-round.

It'll be either stick with Nuno, or put in Mason until the end of the season unless someone suddently becomes available at the right time and is interested in coming.

It was rough, compared to this it was bliss. Sometimes you don’t know what you have until it’s gone.
Not really. The Poch wonder years were truly my fondest memories as a Spurs fan. I would love nothing more than to return to that. But a year of bad results showed no sign of improvement and I really don’t think it would have ended any other way.

I think we probably need to go left field.

Jol and Poch were that and they didn't come with too much expectation or pressure.

Jose came with huge reputation but ego and it is evident now he was passed it.

We'd all seen Wolves I've the past three years and whilst I do think he had good energy there originally, it's now clear Nuno's last season there lives too strongly in the memory.

AVB had failed at Chelsea and we knew what we were getting in terms of style.

That means someone like Gallardo is probably worth going for. He has the style we want, he will motivate, he will get us to be brave and he'll push the team. He will have a bedding in period as he's never coached here before so I expect us to lose games we shouldn't but I think he'll bring that attitude we are missing. He'll tap into Romero and Lo Celso's playing style too. Give him some young players to mould too.

I think we are lacking new energy. Whilst I rate Potter and think he's a good choice I worry whether he'll be able to handle the pressure and problems here. Someone who is oblivious to what's going on around the club may be able to shut that out easier.

One thing is true though.

Most coaches have an ego and that ego means that they believe they can sort the problems out and get the best out of players like Kane and Son.

If you can get the best out of them then you can start to believe you have a capable team.

When we hired Poch many said we would struggle to get a good coach cause we'd fired Redknapp despite getting 4th. Then we fired AVB after not backing him, he then gobbed off to everyone saying Levy didn't back him and broke promises.

Still attracted Mourinho and Poch.

The issue is certain coaches won't leave their job whilst the season is on going, especially if they are doing well, which most of those names are.

Which is when you probably need to really convince them. Promise them a signing or two, show you are serious. Unfortunately Levy won't do that.

Yes, but in hindsight with the past two managers it’s so clear he deserved the time to rebuild

Can we have a “Next Manager (post next manager post Nuno)” thread? Just in the interests of saving time.

I think most managers wont give us the time of day but Gallardo needs a team willing to give him a chance mid season due to coming from South America and needs a team willing to give him a chance making the move into football in this part of the world.

We are in a unique position where we have little else to lose taking the risk and actually be a relatively speaking a team of high standing to try and break in here.

I don't think we will do it as we're run by utter ****s though

Both options are indictment of what our club has become, more needs to be done at games to vent at the board.

This season is a write off - we just need to stay in the league. Need to throw the world at potter next summer and hope he fancies the challenge.

Even during close season our manager hunt was a fiasco.

In mid season i seriously doubt we are going to get anyone that will excite us. NUNO wont last the season obviously, so expect Ryan Mason till May - that’s my call anyway

It isnt a write off - but soon it will be if things dont change. Top four and a cup are still realistic possibilities

You know..... I always liked that Graham Potter guy.

Okay I've been worn down. I'll openly accept XG.....but only because my 1st choice ETH ain't coming and neither is Julen Lopetegui.
