We will not go for any manager who is under contract.
No sane manager who is in a good club, doing good job at present will take over us middle of the season leaving the other club.

Valverde, Gallardo are only decent options available -but they may not even want to touch us now

I believe he also played in the MLS for a year, so he would have some basic English under his belt ( he could have also learnt more). At this point, I would push for the players to buck up and learn Spanish. We honestly just need a manager who can get us playing better. Season is a wash, if we can get a manager who revitalize our team and have us playing attractive football, I think many of us would be okay with losing games. This current shit we're being feed by Nuno is both unattractive and ineffective. Terrible combination.

Agree, has to be between these to. In an ideal world it would be Ten Hag, but neither him nor lopetegui or Potter will come mid season, Potter even turned us down over summer apparently. We have to be realistic with our options. Conte is too expensive for Utd, coming to us is not going to happen. No point wasting time fantasising about managers who won’t come. Gallardo for me is the obvious choice and just about doable I would think with Xavi going to Barca.

Nuno can speak 5 languages well - but whats the point when he cant make the players run for him...
Had Requillon played today, our entire back 4 could have conversed in spanish/portuguese.
Language in football is overrated.

What makes any of you think that changing manager now is going to change things, we’ve still got Baldy who won’t ever let go of power, Paratits (and yes he’s part of this current clusterfuck), Ben Davies, Winks, Dele and Kane et al. Genuine question. We are stuck with this shit for years.

Who do you suggest then?
Personally, I'd take a gamble on Howe. Ten Hag, Gallardo, Rodgers are linked with jobs bigger than us. Potter has already made it clear he isn't interested. Levy isn't prepared to fund the level of transfer activity that Conte wants. We're an upper mid-table team playing in the third tier of European football with a chairman known for interfering in first-team affairs. A top name would be mad to join us. I think we're gonna be left with a choice of taking a risk and hoping to find a diamond in the rough or getting in an interim and hoping to pick the scraps once Barca, PSG, Utd, Newcastle, etc. have made their picks.

October, and this thread is back. We go :sneaky:

Don’t know what happens next, but pick someone who will play the right way and build something. Not Conte. Not Allegri.

Gallardo, Potter, ten Hag, all sound great, but probably unlikely.

Uhhhhhh, yeah..... thats what I said in my post. I was pre-empting any language concerns by emphasizing that we need a manager who can actually get our players to show effort and go out on the pitch with a viable plan.

I think/hope/pray that Nuno was bought in as an Intermin. Given a 2 year contract when only expected to do one..maybe because Poch (or another) would be a also less next summer.
For now, I think we’re at the point we’re I can’t see that anyone could do any worse. So I wanna see someone to try to play attacking football. Whether that’s Mason, Harry, Klinsmann, Ossie I don’t know, but I’d take any of those 4 over Nuno!

You gotta be kiddin' me.

Learn Spanish, the knobbers haven't appeared to learn how to pass and move yet, and you're suggesting they learn Spanish.

I'm thinking the results would be feckin hilarious.

Potter turned us down in the summer. No way he's leaving now to come to us. Take him off the list.
To be fair we could go around in circles for week on this thread suggesting names and then somebody saying "he wont come to us".

Nobody really knows if a manager will come or not. Unless your a mind reader.

I think we should see it more as who do we approach first.

doesn't matter.
Winner! Under Levy and ENIC any manager comes in to work with their hands tied behind their back. No manager with any sense takes this job - the worst in football, with the worst bosses who know nothing but still want to pull all the strings and make footballing decisions. We’re a fucking basket case of a football club and it really saddens me to witness this.

levy and co need to get a lot of heat from here on out. Nuno isn’t up to it and we all knew that in the summer, but Levy hired a DOF who hired Nuno (after a farcical managerial hunt) and Levy sanctioned it and so should be held to account for this along with all the other recent failings / fuck ups.

DNA my fucking arse!

On a serious note - why has no one gone for Eddie Howe for so long? Wonder if there is a story to it that I have missed.

I don't want us to miss out on potentially great manager because the players don't understand. Fuck em. Mandatory Spanish classes at the lodge every day.
