Sounds like the Argentinian FA strong armed our players into showing up for these qualifiers knowing damn well Brazil was not allowing people from the UK in without first isolating. Utterly unprofessional. Get our players back and tell the Argentinian FA to fuck off for the rest of the qualifiers this year.

So why was Brazil upset about their PL players not coming? Surely they would have had to quarantine and not play as well?

The question is, they've been in Brazil for a few days now. Why did this come up 2 hours ago? Brazil is essentially cheating with that. But honestly, its still not their fault. Argentina knew better. They 100% are to blame for this mockery & should be punished accordingly.

Brazilian journalist on Talksport . Brazil health authority have been trying to see the players for last two days. Argentina refused to let them in their hotel, locked dressing room door tonight. Only alternative was to see the players on the pitch.
With luck we can get them out tomorrow to Croatia .
Apparently they said they had not been in uk but most of South America would know that they had .
Talksport trying to tell us that this was a vital match in qualifying for World Cup, when in reality Argentina are second to Brazil at the moment. Top 4 teams in s America go through.
Might work out ok as there is no way these two are going again.

Madness, surely the authorities must have known about this before the games started rather than storming onto the pitch 5mins into the game o_O

What is the club supposed to do when the players are being threatened to not play the WC? The club should have called the bluff, yes but what if they werent bluffing? The players likely would have thrown a fit. It's Argentina at fault. Not Spurs Not Villa. Argentina.

Haha, but from where are you getting that they threatened to miss the WC??
Did they look like players being forced to play in that picture on the plane?

Nobody should be stating with any authority who is to blame as nobody can possibly know. Fine to speculate but seems to be a lot of people with an inside line to the Argentinian FA, Brazilian government and our own club.

Whole thing is a farce and I feel sorry for the players. I know someone who was deported from a country and is a horrifying thing for someone to go through

Sorry, but that's ridiculous. It was the health authority and the police just now. You are telling me that they couldn't get to them in 4 days with the police by their side? They trained in one of the local clubs campus too. It's not like they were hiding in the hotel the 4 days

Sounds like Brazil is still pissed about losing Copa America and not getting their PL players.

But I'm still confused about the UK -> Brazil Quarantine. Had the Brazil players been released, surely they couldn't play either? Or does it not apply to Brazil citizens. If so, then that's also f'ed up.

Whats your take on all of this. ?

No clue, but if they were worried about health issues they could've stopped them before, not once the game started. It's ridiculous to think that health and police authorities couldn't get to them in 4 days (brazil's police is known to be very aggressive). It's all a show, but I'm not sure what's the purpose

Conmebol and CBF had agreed to let the 4 PL players play.
The claim now is that the players lied about where they came from. Who can actually believe they didn't know about where they came from?
If the brazilian PL players did go, would they need to be in quarantine too? If so, why did the CBF complain?

The Copa Libertadores was played this year without problems. The teams had to maintain a sanitary "bubble" to avoid having to be 14 days in a hotel in each country. This applied to the WC qualifiers too.

Like I said, I have no clue what's going on, but they things being reported make no sense to me
