There have been clubs mate, he's turned them down. The feeling is he's trying to get out dirt cheap in order to maximise his own gains.

Posted in his own thread, but he is probably thinking he will get a better club in for him next summer when more would be interested knowing he is free, than the offers he has at the minute.

It is the clubs. I don't think Levy/Lewis directly pump money into the club.
He is ultimately responsible though. Not defending him per se but if for any reason we can't meet our financial obligations then he carries the can.

The ITK we've had is that Nuno and Paratici did not accept that Wolves' asking price for Traore was too much. Nuno had identified the player as his top choice, Paratici had struck the deal, Levy unilaterally vetoed it.

Levy has an established track record of not making sound football judgments, which is why the club employs other to make those judgments. I, for one, am 1000x more willing to accept the combined football acumen of our manager and DoF over that of Daniel Levy.

I am in two minds. While I totally agree a manager and DOF should have ultimate say, I am worried about Mendes’ influence on this transfer. He represents Nuno and the player. I personally think that conflict of interest should never occur without heavy scrutiny from the chairman.

We had some glaring weaknesses, we filled some but not all. We needed to get rid of a lot of players, we got rid of some but not all.

I agree that it is very risky to be going into yet another season without proper back-up for Kane. But I don't see how that is Levy's fault. It is up to Paratici and Nuno to decide whether they are happy to take that risk, and clearly they have made the decision that they are. Personally, I don't like it.

Traore does not fill that need. Of course he has his strengths, no pun intended, but he has glaring weaknesses too. Swap him for Bergwijn and I would be happy. Pay £50 million for him and I think you are taking a massive risk. I always find it a little suspect when a new manager wants to immediately raid his old club. But this is blatantly a Nuno call, so we can hardly accuse Levy of going against Paratici's judgement or ignoring his brilliant scouting of the european leagues. I also don't blame Levy for not making Traore our second most expensive purchase ever, behind Ndombele and the last time he gave in to his manager's no.1 choice.

I like what Paratici has done this window, but I am under no illusions that his work isn't going to need a few more windows. It would take a number of far wealthier and stronger clubs to fall massively short of their expectations for us to finish top 4 this season, and I can't help but feel that the money earmarked for Traore would be better spent by Paratici in the future.

Been saying this for years, we get ourselves in to a position where we can take the next step and he hold us back, that's why our new motto is to dare is to dear.
Exactly. I mean, I'm sure there is some logical rationale behind the conservative approach he's adopted during the past seasons. It's just... it's not working, is it? You have to be progressive in order just to break even in this game, whereas Levy seems happy to just settle with what we have... and then we go backwards as a result.

He didn't actually represent Adama until after we went in for him and Wolves were being difficult. Up until then, Adama had other representation. Nuno wanted the player, full stop.

That's not the issue though. If we haven't got the money then lets cut our cloth accordingly. If this was the case we shouldn't have been in for him at all. It's the U turn's that bring about the frustration.

I still think Adama happens … just like I thought Moutinho would, and Skriniar and …

I typically check different sites after the deadline thinking that the media just missed the deal … go to bed and then check again to see if it was one of those delayed late fax deals!

You just know there is one more random name we'll suddenly be buying for half an hour before it gets shot down. And I for one can't wait
