I've got Twitter open, Romano's twitch feed running, SSN on TV, talksport in one ear and the other ear listening to my work zoom redundancy consultation meeting and there are no reports of us talking to Wolves.
Why waste time on those? I have the SSN deadline day blog on their website. Saves listening to the pointless interviews throughout the day from outside club training grounds and get the information all the same.

The first twenty pages of this thread were very optimistic, then the bummer bomb about Levy dropped, and that triggered 40 pages of frustration. I was hoping when I saw that many pages it was all good news alas…

At least Emerson is coming. That’s a bonus.

As for Levy interfering… my bigger concern is whether or not that upsets Fabio and Nuno. Daniel was supposed to stay out of the way, but has seemingly thrown himself into the mix, and as a result, we’ve had to drop interest in Traore. Which I suppose is his prerogative as he holds the checkbook.

Yes, it very much looks like our business is done for the day. All in all, a pretty decent window.

Spot on.

Keep seeing that we cannot rely so much on Kane and Son for goals.

Then why the hell would we spend £40m/£50m on a winger with no end product. That doesn’t alleviate our reliance on Kane and Son at all.
It's a combination of people being horny for signings and horny for any reason to go after Levy. It doesn't matter that Adama doesn't solve the supposed problem with Kane being our only recognized striker, it's not about that.

You're talking as if Paratici bid for £250m Haarland and not a player priced at levels we've paid before and were attempting to eclipse earlier in the window.

Such odd strawman arguments in this thread. There's nothing to suggest FP and Hitchens were attempting to complete transactions beyond our means. The Goat suggests it was merely Levy not liking the decisions they were making over concerns those decisions would put the club I'm jeapordy.

Spending 30 odd million to get an attacker in is not going to put the club in jeopardy. Nonsense.

That's not the issue though. If we haven't got the money then lets cut our cloth accordingly. If this was the case we shouldn't have been in for him at all. It's the U turn's that bring about the frustration.
I thought the fact we heard FP spins multiple plates and negotiates with multiple targets at once helps us in the scenario if a player/club/agent U-turns or changes their mind?

Guess all we can do now at this stage is try and be positive about the season ahead. We’ve got a new CB and RB and we had to start with our defence at is was our main weakness. Can only hope that Nuno will be the difference with the squad and push us beyond Jose’s lacklustre 7th place

I’m not suggesting they are being reckless - just that as chairman and part owner of the business he has every right to veto any deal.

Personally - I don’t really care. We don’t need another winger with no end product. We already have two of those.

There may be many reasons why he pulled the plug though, it isn’t always simple numbers - as we heard earlier from our ITK’s certain delays were all about creative payment plans, maybe that was the issue rather than the player or the total value of the deal. We’ll likely never know either.
