Stale mate with Kane and City. Nothing seemingly progressing on what we would deem 'deadwood'. And a real slowing down of tangible links to players that improve us.

Really hoping clubs start blinking soon and we see some movement. Starting to get concerned again that we have another window where we won't deal satisfactorily with our issues.

I think this will continue to be the case until the Kane situation is resolved. Up until that point, Paratici is stuck between two stalls.

Presumably we have two lists of transfer targets:

List A - based on our current budget, subject to departures.
List B - much more ambitious and based on us getting the Kane money.

We won't want to rush to sign the players on List A until we know for sure we won't have the money sign the better players in the same positions on List B, so we're essentially in transfer limbo until City pay up for Kane or we slam the door on them for good.

In order for us to get anything done, there must be a deadline in place beyond which we simply refuse to consider any bid from City. I expect as soon as that deadline passes there will be a sudden surge in transfer activity as we'll have clarity on which list to pursue. Until then, though, it's going to feel very slow.

In order for us to get anything done, there must be a deadline in place beyond which we simply refuse to negotiate with City at all. And this is why Hercs update yesterday is so frustrating. I really wanted Levy to make things really painful for City/Kane but now it’s time to conclude that situation and release Paratici from the current paralysis.

This

A great way of explaining what all the ITK have been suggesting.

I am sure ITK has also suggested that deadline is this Friday so fingers crossed after Friday one way or another things start moving on either List A or List B.

Well fingers crossed we'll be put out of our misery shortly. For us to have any chance of bringing in replacements (e.g. Vlahovic) we can't let this one drag on until deadline day as he won't be on the market by then.

I sincerely hope we have clarity one way or the other by early next week and Paratici doesn't allow Levy drag the Kane deal out as that way nobody wins. We might get an extra 10 million for Kane but we will have likely lost any chance of getting a decent replacement which, in the long run, would cost us a lot more.

we've heard lots happening this week and not a thing. It feels like the Kane situation is delaying movement. Really needs to be sorted.

I think the deadline has passed surely? Time to get the A listers in.

So we haven’t got a mystery naming rights deal or training kit sponsors bringing in extra revenue

I wouldn't be surprised if we have a decent amount of money to spend regardless of the Kane deal.

The thing is, there's a huge difference between, say, a £50m budget and a £200m budget, so even if we have some money to spend right now, we'd probably use it very differently if we had the Kane money on top of that.

E.g. Should we be allocating £20m to sign a backup striker, or could we get someone better for £40-50m if Kane goes? Do we want to spend £20m on Tomiyasu when we could buy a more established RB for £40m? All hypothetical of course, but you get the point.

And given the lack of money in the (European) game, we're unlikely to miss out on List A players by taking our time - there simply isn't the competition in the market.

Piles are collections of tissue and vein that become inflamed and swollen.

A fistula (plural: fistulas or fistulae /-li, -laɪ/; from Latin fistula, "tube, pipe") in anatomy is an abnormal connection between two hollow spaces.

on a bit of anti levy stuff: Dont worry too much…as soon as Levy has an acceptable bid for the club he will be off…and thats another reason why CL qualification and on field success is so important to Levy…
on kane replacements/time running out: Plans are in place….the Kane game will finish playing out, which is imminent….
so that means kane is staying?: I wouldnt bet on it….

thanks dov. sounds more positive and should calm the bedwetters. the key bit is the plans are in place, i'm ignoring all the media rubbish while this line remains consistent (as it has via various itks).

I can see it going down to deadline day, I really can :(

Just want this saga done with now - longing it out doesn’t suit anyone.
