The thing with Kane, is it's so clear he's just been told by someone (some complete Charlie probably) to do this... so he's acting it out. Bottom line is as soon as the window is shut, if he's still here, he's just going to get on and play...

If it was Balotelli you'd be worried.

Hope you're right, but I don't think us Spurs fans will ever be the same towards him. Sad really.

True. Although who actually does. I mean I haven't heard anything as yet but I'm all aboard the put the boot in on Kane train.

Thing is whether he was supposed to be in today or not he's still handled this all wrong. He needs to give his brother the boot and get proper representation.

Hasn't the club also handled it wrong if he wasn't due in today? The negativity could have been nipped in the bud, at least till something actually happens.

The part where we have already confirmed (or the press have) that he won't play against city is so so fishy

I agree that it is strange, but what specifically are you pointing to? That a transfer is already agreed and that this is all orchestrated between us, City and Kane?

The amount of you that were saying Kane will be leaving and you would not blame him when we had all the manager fiasco and before that when we were linked to game changers and got the "we tried"
Fast forward and now you're calling him "this that and the other"
I hold the club responsible for where we are now and the manager shit show just showed what we kind of been saying for some time.
Some keep saying it's different now as we got Fabio but we've not improved the first team yet! We got a kid with good potential but that's it.
The only good news we've had is Sonny's contract and I feel it's more to do with his love for the club and the fans than Levy or the board.

I still feel that Kane leaving could be better for us as some players would now consider coming as they won't be second fiddle to him. I just hope Fabio is as good as they say he is but most importantly, I hope Levy stays out of his way!

I know where you are trying to go with this but there is a massive difference between Kane leaving and the way he is currently conducting himself to leave.

If Kane stayed quiet and spurs accepted a £200m bid for him and he left there wouldnt be a backlash.

But with the Neville interview 2 games before season finishing, the sun article and now not turning up for training he deserves, to be called "this that and other".

This, a thousand times this. If we'd showed ambition coupled with some sort of progress we would likely not be in this situation now. Instead, the club regressed, not only regressed, but, by the clubs own admission, was allowed to, thanks to the 'taking my eye off the ball' bollocks. Nobody is going to come out of this with a clean gusset.

His agent didn't have the foresight or the nous to demand such a clause.
I don’t really understand why release clauses aren’t used more.

Transfers for the top players are such big money deals that they can take all summer negotiating. This has led to numerous players getting extremely frustrated as they can’t settle into their new team.

A simple release clause would make all this frustration go away for the player.

No, if it's true that he's due in tomorrow not today, then the club just have to wait for that to happen

If they make a statement and he still doesn't show tomorrow, or whenever he is due in, the club have made themselves look foolish and have lost some of the power in this

Some people are questioning how others have responded to this today.

I have to spend my whole real life being logical, rational, patient and level headed. Football is my place to be none of those things and be regularly contradictory. So if I'm flippant one minute, calling Harry a prick and then fully understanding the next then so be it. I'll be that way until the end of time.

To be fair to most people, I think those being fairly negative would expect him to conduct himself a little bit better than he has done - and that this is probably a year early for most who would "wish him well".

Because so far the PL clubs have argued that that is not how we do business, as they want control. If he had a release clause agreed 3 years ago it would have been around £400m, which would not have changed this situation

I have met Graham many times, and though he has never divulged anything confidential to me about the clubs issues, intentions or transfer policies, he still has strong connections with players, and management at the club. The fact that he shares very little on MSM should not suggest to anyone that he knows "fuck all".

That is so, so far from reality and very disingenuous comment for anyone to make.

All this shit we're going through right now could easily have been avoided by someone either from the club, or from Kane's entourage bothering to tell us WTF is really happening, but as usual, nobody inside the game actually gives a crap about us fans.

I'm glad he isn't.

He'll be the focus of the attention and Nuno and the players don't need that, they need to be going into that game with a strategy and focus.

We've also beaten City twice before without him.

I don’t agree.

Kane could easily have signed a 5 year contract with a release clause kicking in after 2 years at a fair valuation.

If the club rejected this then he could have rejected the contract.

When Poch said ‘painful rebuild’ I didn’t think he meant we’d only be left with Lloris, Dele and Son!

Mate he's been proved sooooo repeatedly wrong over the last few years. His contacts are not as good as you or he think they are.

Worth pointing out though that we can be both furious at the club/board/Daniel for the situation we’re in, and think Harry and Johnny Drama are being disrespectful morons.
