Makes sense for Aurier not to travel. Monday is deadline day. Still a bit of a question whether he stays or goes. So leave him home. Lo Celso being out is awful news. Could see us now sitting back. Wouldnt be shocked if Dele starts in a 352 with Hojbjerg and Winks deep lying and Ndombele off the bench. Imagine Vinicius and Gazzaniga will be the 2 left off the 18. Hopefully MEN just missed GLC, Tanganga and Bergwijn because now im worried.

With that being the apparent traveling squad, I think Jose will go

Lloris
Sanchez Dier Davies
Doherty Hojbjerg Winks Reguilon
Dele
Kane Son

Hart, Toby, Sissoko, Fernandes, Ndombele, Lucas, Lamela
You seriously think he'll drop Ndombele, start Alli AND play a back 3?

Brighton did rinse Utd with a back 3 but it would be a very big risk given we usually play shite with that system and have only done it once out of necessity this season. Also, while Alli is working his way back into favour, I highly doubt Jose will start him in big league games yet.

I think Jose has found his preferred system and, presuming Son is fit, I'd be very surprised if it's not:

Lloris
Doherty Sanchez Dier Reguilon
Hojbjerg Winks
Ndombele
Lucas Kane Son

Agree but think Lamela will start.

I want to get Skriniar in too but I think the valuation difference is more than a few mill. Ally Gold says its £13m difference between us and Inter and I believe him. The gap, in a normal year, would be bridgeable as it isnt much in the scheme of things but in these times? It might not be. We could well be at our limit, tbh.
If Jose wants him Levy will offer some more and considering the fact that he wants to come I reckon they’ll drop their price a bit so we’ll meet in the middle with a few add ons

We probably are stepping back a bit waiting for them to drop their price but I’d be surprised if we went much further than where we are.

This.
Except I think Jose will play Davies - Reguilon will get the spot but Jose won't give him it that quickly over Davies. Still think Davies will be first pick for an away game against Utd.

Reguilon had a fantastic game against Man utd in EL semi finals so I see no reason why he should not play today, plus man utd struggle with pace.

I see no reason either but I still think Jose will play Davies. He has been one of his main men since taking over and I think he will continue with that loyalty initially and let Reggie work his way into the side.

Agree but a few fresh legs won't go amiss today considering davies played on Thursday and reguilon last played on Tuesday.

Lo Celso is a massive miss for this game. Our midfield is going to need to work hard and our defence moreso.

Not sure what formation I would go on this part of me like a back 3....

4-3-3

Lloris
Doherty
Dier
Sanchez
Reguilon

Holjberg
Winks
N'Dombele

Lamela
Kane
Son (if fit) or Moura

Bench
Hart, Davies, Toby, Sissoko, Alli, Moura (or Son), Sessegnon.

3-5-2

Lloris
Sanchez
Toby
Dier

Doherty
Holjberg
Winks
NDombele
Reguilon

Kane
Son (if fit) or Alli

Bench
Hart, Davies, Tanganga, Sissoko, Moura, Son/Alli, Sessegnon

If Son is fit enough to travel I'd start him. We have a 2 week break after today and he has no international fixtures. I'm sure if there was a risk of aggravating his injury he wouldn't even be in Manchester.

I'd still say an 80% Son is more of a worry to a defence than an 100% Bergwijn, Lucas or Lamela.

Definitely your 4-3-3 team is what I'd pick in light of team news.

Some reports which are indicating that Serge, Doherty and Tanganga are all missing from today's squad. Does anyone know whether this is true?
