Am I missing something here?

He’s slow, not good on the ball, £50m! and Inter don’t want him anymore?

Seems a lot of money considering all those things.

We must be one of very few fanbases who wonder where the money comes from when we're touted to spend big on a player(s). I'm not gonna question it because one thing's for sure and that is Levy knows how money works and what we can or can't do in the market. And I'm definitely not complaining.
I think the main reason why everyone is asking, is because at the start of the window everything seemed to point towards a couple budget signings to fill some holes. Now we could be having one of our biggest transfer windows ever, all of that in the middle of a pandemic

I guess the overall point is, yes we're in a pandemic and money was supposedly tight. However, we wouldn't be spending big if we couldn't afford it. I guess what I was getting at is Levy isn't gonna drive us broke spending too much money. Regardless of the circumstances, he won't be an idiot with money. So we must've either had it from the start or we got money from somewhere this window. This is where I'm not questioning/complaining if that makes sense.

I don't think we should overreact with this apparent lack of pace that's being branded about on here recently. Alderweireld and Vertonghen were both fantastic CB's for us and they're certainly not renowned for having pace.

Fair point. Hope he’s positioning is as good as Toby and Jan’s was.

He's built like a fucking wardrobe and tackles with the ferocity of a thousand rabid Dobermanns.

That's enough for me.

He isn't fast, but he's definitely not slow. Also, he is very good on the ball. No nonsense in his passing and defensive work. His ball playing ability is much much closer to Toby than Sanchez.
