I agree with you. He's got a great eye for goal we just need him to be doing more of his work around the box. Get the right players to support him and he will succeed, it's no coincidence he looked his best with a firing Eriksen.

We shouldn't focus on getting the right players to support Alli. We should build the team to support Son-Kane-Bale, and the first thing to do then is to remove Alli.

If we're being brutally honest here, he hasnt been anywhere near good enough now for a long time. We dont have the squad to carry players who turn up every 3-4 games if we're lucky. Im not endorsing his sale at all, theres a player in there i'd love for us to get back and theres plenty i'd move on before Dele but I suspect if he wasnt English, the opinions round here would be significantly more ruthless.
I must admit I find it hard to knock any of the poch team , I've grown to love them all so much.

Hell id take eriksen back in a heartbeat even though he could frustrate me more than any player I've seen.

I see dele as one of us and even if I didnt, with the talent he has its a massive risk selling him, he's still very young.

I wonder if a season long loan abroad might help everyone? Dele gets a new challenge and change of scenery to hopefully reboot himself into his old form and we still own the player.

Why? The reason Dele shot to stardom was because he is unlike many players. Get the best out of him and you get a 20+ goal a season midfielder. In the 90s he would have been an awesome second striker.

I’m so conflicted on this one, but I’m probably being coloured by the documentary to be honest. There is something so weirdly childish and spoilt about how he comes over, but when he’s on form he’s a game changer. The problem is how often in the last couple seasons how many times has he risen to the occasion? I was pleased in those first few Jose era games where it looked like he was back to his best, but those feel fleeting. That said, he’s still young, has bags of potential and might just love up to it. I do wonder sometimes if he hadn’t exploded into the scene quite so spectacularly in those first two seasons maybe the drop off wouldn’t feel so disappointing. Still, what an option to come off the bench. Big teams have an abundance of alternatives... (see what I mean about conflicted?)

If we get in Bale and Reguilon squad wise we don’t need anyone else really apart from a back up ST and maybe a CB to replace Foyth if he goes but even then I really rate Tanganga. The squad would be great and all it’s basically waiting on is for Ndombele to get going.

Dele may not be a starter right now but my god what a sub and what a high quality rotational option, why on earth would you move him on when have Sissoko, Lucas and Lamela still here. I think it’s a two plus two story because he got subbed off, bet he starts the Southampton game.

It's funny that when Kane is starved of service it's the fault of the team not functioning but Alli doesn't get the same response. We can't expect him to perform until we get more on the front foot. He's still a quality player, did great when Jose arrived but struggled with his hamstring again. Selling him would be a huge mistake and we should only consider selling Aurier, Rose, CCV, Lamela and Sissoko (possibly Foyth). Everyone else needs to stay to keep the competition and depth we need.
Because we play Alli in a position where he is supposed to add more than just goals if he can’t get service. He has two midfielders that can bring more to the team in the attack (barring Ndombeles fitness) and Son, Bale (hopefully) and Bergwijn all are more deserving of the spots behind Kane right now.

He’s living off a reputation of a player that hasn’t been there for 3 years. If we can get a good fee I’m all for letting him start a new else where.

All depends on the deal and how we’d use it from my standpoint.

If selling Dele is an avenue to pay 50M for Vinícius, I don’t love it.
In a world of hypotheticals where we bring in Bale & sell Dele to fund Vinicius... when Kane gets his inevitable injury in the winter and we have to line up a cup game with either Dele or Vinicius at forward who do you think is more likely to help the attack? Based off recent years, I’d risk it on bringing in a fresh face.

I mean hell, we didn’t score for 4 games in a row or something at one point last year? We need a damn good second striker more than we need whatever Dele offers these days.

Dele Ali's struggles started at the same time as Eriksen faltered. He was on the end of what Eriksen did.

Eriksen facilitied Ali.

N'Dombele is the solution to the Ali puzzle.

I could be talking tosh, overly optimistic, making excuses or deluded.

And Romano just said we’ve offered Dele on loan to other clubs.

Even if he’s not a starter, why does that mean that a young, talented guy with a great record should be sold? Surely that weakens our squad.

Several players ahead of him who we should ship out unless the manager specifically wants him out.
Because he's the type of player who demands to play. I really think if he's a squad player it wouldn't help the spirit within the dressing room having Alli as a squad player. The documentary gives you plenty of clues and I think Mourinho has read this hence these sale rumours.

Wonder why he didn't travel, seems strange. Unless he's definitely starting on Sunday or there's something in the speculation.

Too obvious that he won't leave, HG, Jose likes him and nobody really wants him for the money we will ask. Top 4 clubs have better options, RM can get anyone etc.

So toby and dele, who are the other 6 that didn't go?

Could easily be we want a few players still fresh for our next game at the weekend.

Totally agree. Dele is a class act but the team is playing so shit and slow he has no space or options.

He’s only surpassed 15 goals once in his time here. Hasn’t even hit double digits last 2 seasons.
scored 22 at the age of 20, and he's had injury problems the last two seasons. There's an immensely talented player in there. Hell, Bale has only broken 20 goals once in the last 5 years and failed to reach double digits twice and it will be like the second coming of Jesus if he returns.

If it's due to his inclusion on Sunday I find that a shame as it suggests no change of shape or probably approach. The lopsided 4-2-3-1 will be another painful watch.

On his day he's a bloody brilliant player but the fact is, he's difficult to fit into a team unless that team is built around him. Because he's often inconsistent or injured, it's pretty impossible to build the whole thing around him and he then looks a bit lost. I've said for a long time that if we needed to cash in on any of our top players, I'd choose Dele. In the early days he frequently started at the expense of Son who regularly came off the bench, but lately Dele hasn't taken kindly to be given the same role. For a top price, I'd wish him well and let him go and bring in a more conventional player of the same quality.
