If permanent, Madrid can pay him off at a reduced fee, say 250k a week for 2 years remaining. Cannot see the point though because they can just subsidize over the 2 years on a monthly basis instead of being hit with a big amount this summer.

There is no chance they get a transfer fee when he is earning over 500K a week. So, 2 year loan to take him to the end of his contract and we pay 50% (or whatever Levy has agreed) of his wage is sensible for all parties.

Agreed, spot on

This will be our best signing since Klinsmann. 26 fucking years ago!!

And maybe better than Klinsmann...
Klansman was 30 when he signed for us if I recall so similar age to Bale.

* Edit - Apologies. Klinsmann and not Klansman. Bloody spell corrector.

We really need something special like this to change the vibe around the club. Hopefully we can arrest the slide and start looking up again...

And the big difference is Bale loves Spurs whereas Klinsmann saw us as a stepping stone to Bayern.

So hyped for the next couple of days.

Remember last summer when Barnett said Bale is a world class player and would never go on loan ???

Anyone else watching SSN and really impressed with the way Paul Robinson comes across?! It’s refreshing to hear an ex footballer that can string a sentence together

It feels like all our proposed big deals in recent windows have fallen through. I'm nervous too but also have a better feeling than I did with Dybala.

Barnett saying its close is good, matter of time just, exciting.

I don't think Dybala ever truly wanted to leave, that was the issue. This time I think all 3 parties (clubs and player) want it to happen, and with Barnett suggesting it's already close I imagine it is very likely that it happens now.

Nigel Reo Coker on SSN:

First statement - it’s the easy, safe thing to do to go back to Tottenham.

Second statement - why would he go there when Jose’s style of play won’t suit him.

So what you’re saying is.... it probably isn’t the easy, safe thing to do. Cockcheese.
