You have to Hail the Goat when the info is correct and ignore it when it's bollocks. Them's the rules. ;)

And here's a lovely example of not understanding at all how ITK works.

Say, for example, the ITK this time came from Doherty's side and he's been told "Spurs want you to replace Aurier". That information is passed on and is entitely consistent with what The Goat posted. No, it doesn't mean all the i's are dotted because if ITK was only ever shared at that stage then it'd be on the OS and you might as well forget about it.

Even when we had the ITK of Zokora at an airport on his way to Spurs (probably the most memorable ITK we've ever had), that didn't mean a deal was agreed. Even when we HAVE had a deal agreed, when we've been told directly by one of the signatories on the contract that a player has signed, it can still be weeks until it's announced on the OS site.

ITK comes at different times in the process and nothing is assured until it happens and is officially announced.

If we had Levy posted directly on here, he'd probably only have a 1 in 10 hit rate for ITK.

Take it with a pinch of salt, appreciate it for what it is, and don't complain when A&C deals with the snide comments.

Apologies. Was meant tongue in cheek - no offence intended and I deleted it immediately.

But I though Levy did post here under the name "Archilbald&Crooks"?

Great post Rob.

Has there actually been examples of being told a player has signed and it taking weeks? I tried to rack my brain and couldn’t come up with anything. Longest break I remember from being near on done to announcement was Gylfi when we had the medical info.

Gylfi was my favourite piece of ITK ever. That was the one where the first letter of every paragraph in this threads OP spelled 'Gylfi' and IIRC we gave you that one before even any medical stuff and easily before it was in the media.

Corluka.

Literally signed. And it wasn't announced for over a month.

I want to congratulate you @Stoof but until I see an official Spurs announcement video and an official stamp, I just can’t risk the dissappointment. I’ve had my heart broken by this club too many times before.
