He seems to be able to stop a lot of crosses coming in to the box. I’m sure our ‘keeper and CB’s will appreciate that.

Play Aarons in games like against Palace, or any other team that'll sit back. Then play Aurier (if he's still here) or Tanganga in games where we're going to sit back and counter. Seems easy enough

Norwich couldn't finish a packet of crisps, the lad should have at least 7-8 assists this year going by that video. I agree with those saying £18m is a bargain for a young, promising, homegrown FB.

We should definitely get Aarons. Imagine the Fifa skills with him and Sess onboard!

Oh, and on the actual pitch... he's looked like a player who could be much better with better players around him.

Norwich have some decent players, but they always look a bit disjointed.

He can drag Cantwell, Godfrey, Pukki and Buendia with him to bolster the squad (to my mind).

This kid was a standout in the Championship when in a team that wasn't getting beaten every week. Hard to thrive in a relegation season. His height is the main concern but he seems quite stocky and willing to put himself about. If we can get him for £15-20m I'd be all for it, although you could make an argument for keeping KWP instead. Plenty of potential with Aarons IMO.

That 'welcome to Bayern' video shows a lot to like. The kid can play. Plays a bit like Tripps but with more pace.

I have to say, while I like Aarons, this is a pretty accurate description of Sessegnon one year ago - and I was a big fan of that signing too!

Hopefully if Aarons comes we’ll be able to help him integrate better than Sessegnon has. An early arrival would probably help, but that may be too much wishful thinking!

And not getting a serious injury before he’s kicked a ball for us might help too.

I think Sess is still not fully settled as a full back, so slightly different in that regard, but a fair point.

Who the buggery fuck is Gilly

GILLY is a member/contributor to 'SIMB' (Spurs Interactive Message Board - the oldest Spurs forum, started in the mid 1990s). He’s now a football agent.

I used to look at SIMB regularly back in the day. It was like the wild west then and still is now, to be fair. Just today someone on there was claiming that Jack Grealish's aunty insists he is Spurs bound...lol. ?

A few EPL Stats for this season to highlight that even though Aurier has more assists and puts in more crosses, Aarons is a lot more accurate and creates more chances, despite playing in a poor side.

Aarons (36 games)

Big chances created 7
Crosses 73
Cross accuracy 22%

Aurier (33 games)

Big chances created 4
Crosses 137
Cross accuracy 15%

Norwich have signed Bali Mumba who could be a replacement and it sounds like they are already hoovering up young talent.

Therefore I can't imagine Aarons being too hard to get done. They are resigned to losing him but if we go in with 10m offers that won't cut it
