Good to see Onomah, Edwards, Walker-Peters and Carter-Vickers all having good seasons and starting to fulfil their potential
I'm sure with more chances at least two of those would be important members of our squad right now...Good to see Onomah, Edwards, Walker-Peters and Carter-Vickers all having good seasons and starting to fulfil their potential

I hope there's sneaky clauses in with both Edwards and Onomah's deals. There are signs that both might fulfill their potential by the age we were bringing players through anyway. Strange few years under Poch.

Favourable buyback clauses would be handy if they really come good. In that event, we would have to hope that they still have positive feelings for the club and that their struggle to break through hasn't soured the relationship for them. I believe that both are / were Spurs fans?
Of the two of them I suspect Onomah would be more successful with us.Out of both of them, I think Onomah would come back over Edwards.
The unfortunate problem with Onomah is that his running gait and play style make him seem like he’s coasting 90% of the time.I'm all for seeing academy players excelling, whether it's with us or elsewhere but just want to point out my understanding from a Fulham supporting friend is that he has been average across the season (and I don't mean that in a derogatory way by average I mean, steady but not spectacular)
I'm told the last 10 games has seen a huge improvement in his output but he was coasting most of the season. Let's hope something has clicked because he has the talent.

Well one of the big changes was Parker started playing him further forward after the break. As more of an out and out AM, something Poch was criticised for. The reality is right now, if he wasn't from our academy none would be talking about him being a potential signing, and thats still the case. I'm glad he is doing well now. It's not a problem if players are playing well. It's a huge problem if they're not.
I'm hearing the same as @Locotoro, so maybe Onomah - like it looks Edwards has - has finally found those extra yards in their head to combine with their huge talent.
Maybe it was Poch or the weird lack of loans. It seems likely now.
I understood it for awhile, like Pep with Foden, but we had too many lads twiddling their thumbs when they could have been doing what they're doing at the moment. Growing.
Good luck to them but I hope we still have "interests" in bringing them back like other clubs would these days.

Really annoys me. Everyone knew they needed more game time away and now they are they're doing well
In that case they should have been out on loan gaining experience - it's looking more and more like a number of our youth were completely stifled without being given the opportunity to grow and then give the club/Poch/whoever else options rather than spunk money away on punts that were not wanted either. As much as we all wanted them to break through, Poch & Co's ambition was to win the league - which makes it much harder to seed in youth unless they really stake a claim i.e. winks
In some ways we're more equipped to do so now with EL and finishing sixth.

No wonder some of those who follow the youth setups and comment, get so frustrated with the long term picture of our youth team set ups.
Yeah, my uncle and cousin are season ticket holders at Fulham and they hadn't been impressed, a mixture of average and anonymous according to them.I'm all for seeing academy players excelling, whether it's with us or elsewhere but just want to point out my understanding from a Fulham supporting friend is that he has been average across the season (and I don't mean that in a derogatory way by average I mean, steady but not spectacular)
