Don't think Lamela is fit enough to start, from Jose has said suggests he's doing the bare minimum training wise.

Also, the less Lamela trains the better, as most of his injuries seem to happen during training.

Lamela doesn't need to train, he needs to do a ledley and keep his fitness up in other ways that keeps him able to play 90 mins once a week for the rest of the season. Him being available to play every week is going to be massive for us with Son and Kane out.

Parrot ?

terrible I know but just would like to see something different to see if that can spark the team to fucking be awake at the start of the game.

guessing well get something similar to the embarrassing Chelsea display, hopefully not, hate to see lo celso wasted and lamela needs to start with his energy levels embarrassing some of the other players into action.

This is my first visit to the new stadium and, having lived abroad for the last 14 ish years, my first visit in a long time. Defeat is not an option!

I do think we need the flexibility to be able to switch from a back 4 to a back 3 with someone who can seamlessly drop in there. That used to be Dier, I'm just not sure he is fit enough now and I don't know anyone else in our squad who can, maybe Ndombele, Foyth or Verts? I just think we need to have that flexibilty to attack in strength and defend likewise.

A squad in transition is very frustrating!

Undecided about Davies. Maybe out Tanganga in there to deal with Traore's pace but I think the experience of Davies probably suits our needs better.

Davies won't even
get a whiff
of his aftershave
except by fouling him
and conceding free kicks
in dangerous areas.
Sess is the answer.

I would like to see Japhet in place of Davies, but I fear Jose will stick with Davies. Also, we probably won't see Gedson start, so just wishful thinking on my part.

Is it too late to teach an old dog new tricks. Is he just too slow and immobile?

Verts at DCM in front of a flat back 4. Lo Celsius and Ndom ahead of him.

I just don’t want to see him wither and die away?

Think need to play proper flat back 4 worried about Jota getting into space behind Aurier otherwise
On other side have pace of Traore against either experience of Davies or speedier Tanganga. After what he did to us at their place would edge towards Japhet - but actually feel sorry for the guy playing in so many positions though he will benefit long term.
Sanchez and Toby obvious centre backs.

Would ask GLC to play deeper role alongside Winks but now more central to influence game.

Three in front of them being Gedson, Ndombele and Steve.

With Troy up front. May not be ready but got to give it a go.

Lucas now goes on the bench to be an impact sub like Eric who need fully fit asap because he can play the false 9 if Troy experiment fails.

With these guys there is a need to keep the ball on the deck and move the ball fast.

We played Leipzig a few days before we played Chelsea whereas Chelsea had eight match free days to prepare .
Wolves play Espanyol on Thursday whilst we have had seven free days to prepare .
I think preparation time matters and not playing midweek matters and it may give us the edge over Wolves .
But if Wolves beat us it blows that theory out of the water or it shows the theory is correct but we are worse than I thought .
