I think we also have to be prepared for Conte dropping someone we see as a key player for run of games as he moulds them off the pitch. This has been a pattern at all of his clubs. I think almost definitely a 3-5-2 on Sunday as the players spent a lot of energy on Thursday night and we will need more control in the middle third. Almost impossible to pick his side other than to say Lloris, Reguillon, Kane and Son should start. All the other positions are up in the air as there are viable options in each position.

This is the team I would like to see on Sunday:

Lloris

Tanganga - Romero - Davies

Royal ------- Højbjerg ------- Reguillon

Ndombele ---- Dele

Kane ----Son
I just have a feeling that Dele's hard running and ability to arrive in the box could really be well suited to 'Conte ball'. Every time Dele takes two touches and slows the game down Conte will be barking at him with his psychotic mad eyes from the touchline. Conte could be the best manager to get Dele back to the 2016-2018 form.

Lloris
Sanchez Romero Dier
Emerson Ndombele Højberg Lo Celso Reguilón
Kane Son

With that team, controversial I know, but I would drop Kane and play Dele up front with Sonny. I would also drop Dier (because he is exactly that) and play Tanganga in a three with Sanchez and Romero. Hojbjerg would also be dropped but Skippy definitely plays in his place.

You are probably overthinking things or aren't fully awake yet, but it would be borderline insane to even think about dropping Kane for the first league match under Conte. Only to start Dele Alli instead.

Dropping Kane would give him the biggest kick up his arse he's ever had and let's face it, he's been abysmal lately. Conte said when he arrived everyone starts with a clean slate and everyone will be treated equally, so fuck it, why not give Dele a place up front with Sonny, he's flopped everywhere else so far.

lineup (1).png

I'm ready for the hate with this lineup.

Skipp looked nervous on Thursday and I think Winks was excellent when he came on. I think we were too open so I'd go for the 3 in the middle of the park even though that's harsh on Lucas.

I think if we get lo celso back to the form he showed in the second half of his first season then we have a player on our hands and I like the balance a left footer gives in a 352.

I'm a huge huge Tanganga fan and I'm desperate for him to be given a chance. I also think Conte will turn Diers career around so I'd show faith in him over Ben Davies who to be fair was ok in the week.

Personally, feel the young Spaniard would be a good shout in the cam role. Put Tanguy in as "the obvious choice".

I think Winks will be one of the players that will be improving a lot in a Conte team. He needs firm orders what to do, then he can be a really good player.

----------Lloris-------
Tanganga-Romero-Davies
Emerson---Winks--Hojberg---Reguilon
----Lucas---Kane---Son

I hope so. Winks has dominated games against top top quality teams (including both Madrid and Barcelona) and people seem to forget that. He is exactly the same player. He has just lost his way.

He is a tempo setter who needs a team that has lots of possession to shine. Since poch left we have rarely dominated possession. In a good team with loads of the ball, winks would shine in my opinion.

I'm not saying he is the greatest midfielder in the world, but he is very good at recycling possession.

I know it's a different system but last time we played Hojbjerg-Ndombele-Dele in midfield we were 3-0 down to a shit Arsenal side at HT.

I'm not a fan of the Hojbjerg/Skipp pivot but I'm not sure that trio is the answer.

Personally, I'd go: Lloris; Romero Sanchez Davies; Emerson Skipp GLC Ndombele Reguilon; Kane Son

Be surprised if Romero plays in the centre of the 3 until we sign another ballplayer or two at CB. Conte always has his best CBs on the ball and more athletic CBs on the sides with the simple passes and sweeping left to the central one. Romero couldn't play central in a back 3 like he did at Atalanta under Conte.
