Vertonghen had an OK game but he's 100% lost a yard of pace. We have to give serious thought to extending his contract if he wants a long one.

Im furious. Almost blew that. Learn to fucking see a game out and defend for fucks sake
Yeh its an issue. I'm very happy though. We won and we largely played well. I'm not going to get angry about conceding the few goals in the end. It needs to be dealt with, but even so job accomplished, mostly with style.

Should have scored more. Defensively its weird at the moment because we actually largely defended ok. Sanchez in particular had a great game. But its just silly issues and temporary defensive panic which is costing us. I suspect we need a clean sheet to build confidence and we need to learn how to play deeper when protecting a lead.

Start of last week 3 wins from 3 and six points behind 4th considering where we were I would've bitten your hand off.

He'll sort out the defence, at least we're a proper attacking threat again.

It's another 3 points. Aside from the last 15 mins we were well in control. Just need to stop making stupid mistakes to encourage other teams on to us.

Again I feel in the long run these issues will help us/mourinho improve as he'll be onto levy to bring in that DM that can boss the middle of the pitch which is the real key position we're lacking in. As much as Jose wants it to be Doer it clearly not him in this form.

The most important thing under Jose to start is to see our attacking play open up which it has. The defending was always going to need more serious work on

No getting away from Alderwield's and Jan's age now. Need to get a new CB asap. Maybe also give Foyth a chance until then in an "easy" game.

Thought the back 4 actually played okay but not sure happened in that last 3 mins, all over the shop.

DM is a top priority for January, Dier is not up to it.

We are making progress going forward but fuck me the defending is a joke but at least Jose is seeing what is needed.
Important thing here is picking up maximum points.
We're only gonna improve defensively, if we need a change of personnel to do that then so be it.

I think we need a top notch defensive midfielder to protect the back four personally.

And probably a new fresher and younger centre back to partner Sanchez.

Plus Mouronho will work on the mentality.

You’re a tit

To be honest we definitely need to improve defensively thats twice in two games and today they had a chance to draw it... we need to finish our chances off and control things better at say 3-0 with 19 mins to go

The weak underbelly is still there. Its all mentality I'm convinced, we looked comfortable in defence until they scored an excellent free kick, then we shat ourselves. Its a hangover from the last year of Poch's reign when we regularly blew leads. Fairly confident Jose will get it sorted, but might take a while I guess. If he can make us more solid whilst keeping this level of attacking potency we will be back up there in no time.

Wow that was close in the end.

the radio commentary made it sound as though Bournemouth were the better side in the first half and we were lucky to be ahead, yet missed some great chances; is that true? Clearly in the second half we played much better but still have gone from being defensively so good to conceding so easily late in games. Still a six game unbeaten run is much better form which will surely build confidence. Plus to see Dele back to his best is like having a new £100m signing

Anyone explain how Wilson can be free in the middle of the box? No one near him ffs. Their first goal was pure bullshit, wasn't a foul, and VAR screwed us twice, but fuck me, can't keep conceding 2 goals every game. Ridiculous stuff
I think it was quite clearly a foul and think that VAR, though annoying, didn´t screw us. Maybe the Son fould should have been a Pen but it wasn´t super clear cut. I have no complaints with the officiating.

If we keep scoring 3 we can. Important thing is the points. I think this is very much a mentality issue.
